Does anyone know the bats rules for USSSA 13U?
Can you use composite bats with the USSSA stamp?
Is there a max drop they can use?

Thanks

I have that 31/21 Easton Red Stealth XL like new. Son used once last year and did not like it. Let me know if anyone is interested in it.

Triple Crown - At 14u max drop allowed is -5, at 15 & older, BBCOR
USSSA - At 14u no drop requirements so long as it has the USSSA stamp (yes, they can use 2-1/4 drop 12). At 15 & older, BBCOR

No way a true coach allows their kids to use a skinny barrel in 13u even if it's within the rules. I really hope we've seen the last of that ridiculous red easton bat

Right......because as we've discovered on this forum ALL coaches ALWAYS do what the best thing is for the players (said no one ever).

As far as the drop to use, I don't believe the USSSA rules have drop limitations at all except for BBCOR bats.

http://files.leagueathletics.com/Images/Club/9192/USSSA%20BAT%20RULE%20CHANGE.pdf

As a practical matter, the 7th grade 13u kids can use something bigger than a drop 3 or 5 because they have basically two springs left to transition to the the BBCOR drop 3 in HS. The 8th grade 13U kids probably should try to use at least a drop 5 or drop 3, and if using drop 5, they would have the summer and the fall before 9th grade to transition to drop 3 BBCOR.

For 15U and up in USSSA the bat has to be BBCOR, USSSA stamped and no lighter than drop 3. The other thing USSSA has done is tie the bat standard to those bats sanctioned by NHSF. So if The NHSF has banned a bat, its banned in USSSA too, even if its BBCOR, drop 3 and has the stamp on it. Confused even more, unsure what to buy? Then use wood. Its good for all play.

USSSA at age 14 you can use any weight bat that you want as long as it has the stamp or is BBCOR. It amazes me that they will let a 14 year old swing a drop 10.

Last year the kids could use a drop 10 at 13 in travel, as long as the stamp was there for bbcor or USSSA. At 14, they were to use a drop 5 and then drop 3 in high school or 15 years old. Some leagues are different, but that is pretty much the norm from what I have seen. Composites are fine.
