In the 6-4-3 Invitational, The Georgia Sting won in pool play 11-1 against the East Side Hurricanes. They beat RBI 18-6 in pool play. And they runruled 6-4-3 Cougars in the first bracket game 11-2. They were tied in the 6th inning 7-7 against RBI with a couple errors that cost them that game. They got 3rd in the Super Nit in NC. I'd say they are a starting to put it together and may need to be added to this list soon...just sayin

Big Dawg - I have to agree with you. The GA Sting are really coming on strong when it counts.

Another outing like the last two and I'd say they are there. It is refreshing to see teams that have put in the work and then come on strong the 2nd half of the season and make a big push.

I agree the Sting looked great this past weekend. Also agree that it is refreshing to see the teams who put in the extra work and effort to include the coaching and kids working hard come on strong the 2nd half of the season.

On the flip side it's sad to see teams with quality players get down on themselves or the coaches doing the same when they can't put it together during the first half and then sit out of some of the best tournaments around. Some will take on an easier tournament or two to build confidence and I agree that this works at times but it all boils down to staying motivated throughout a long tournament season and continuing to push forward.

Georgia has some great ball clubs and by the traffic on this baseball is healthy at 11u in Georgia. I coach a developing team in Jacksonville and am hoping to make a road trip to Georgia next year. Any good tourneys you can reccommend?

Sting is stacked, I've seen them a few times. They put together a nice squad this year.

Unfortunately the GA Sting and the Astros get to drive to Auburn to play in a pool game for the Ala SNIT. We wish them and all of the other GA teams (Yard Dogs, 643 Cougars, Hurricanes, Alpharetta Warriors, Blue Jays, Bullpin Bulls, Copperheads) good luck...Why aren't more trying to win an SNIT? Don't get it...

I agree with that also. Was hoping to see both teams play teams from out of state in the pools. "U Trips" us all up sometimes though right? Just kidding it's not a knock on USSSA or a knock on any other sanctioning body. I just couldn't resist the play on words.

You would hope for some new faces in pool play for everyone if possible though.

A few of the teams are likely looking for good competition but giving their kids a chance to face teams they don't see all too often. That'd be my guess as to why more aren't following the NIT or maybe a lot of them have done a bit of travelling already and the money is tight with a lot of baseball left to play. Who knows?
