I am in the Market for a new glove for my soon to be nine year old. His glove now is well worn in and he hates to get rid of it. The problem is there is no more padding left. When he catches a line drive or a high fly in his palm he suffers for it. He plays reck and usually plays third or second. Well I am sure you all know how reck is. I dont coach so now the coaches sons play his positon. Any way if any one could point me in the right direction or suggestions.

Thanks
George

Best glove for the money is probably Rawlings Gold Glove. I think around 99 dollars at Dicks. Wilson A2000 if you want to spend more, and of course the A2K when they get bigger. My son also likes the Nokona which is American made but is a little heavy for youth.

Bought a new one for my grandson this year. He has a Wilson A2000 He used, but complained of the same thing when taking throws down from the catcher to third. He also needed one that fit a little tighter to his smaller hand. We decided on the Tpx flare model after looking and we bought it on line. He loves the glove and it fit tight to his hand, and has extra padding in thumb and palm area, improving his game. No complaints and was easy to break in, also is half the price of the a2000 that he only uses when pitching now. I would suggest it is worth a look.

My youngest uses a Rawlings Sandlot and loves it..Heck I love it. Nice feel, plenty of cushion at a great price. The newer Wilson's have zero padding. The Nokona is nice, but agreed it is a little heavy for a 9yo.

I have seen a lot of kids use the TPX also.

The a2000 SC models are for small hands and have nice padding; more so than the regular a2000.

The hand opening is so small that most adult men can't get a hand in it. Great for the boys.
