I have an all Georgia final 4. Astros, Pride, HP, and Roadrunners. I would have liked to have seen more Florida teams in this one. But the Astros should be the clear favorite. Gotta catch them boyz on a bad day to beat them.

No predictions from me on a final 4 but if I did, I'd sure put the Astros in it.

I talked to one of the parents of a player on the East Cobb Stars 2 weeks ago at the Triple Crown tournament and he said they were going but I don't see them on the list. I'm surprised that team doesn't play more games outside the friendly confines of East Cobb because they do have some talent on it.

I think it will be awesome to watch our GA teams beat up on AA and AAA teams in pool play.......should be real neat!

I thought that there were 28 teams earlier this week that had signed on. Who were the teams that dropped this late?

Looks to be a GREAT SNIT. Tough to pick. Astros a clear favorite on paper.
It will be fun to see how bad those Bama teams get blistered when they play the Astros in pool play. Looks to be a easy pool for most Ga. teams.
HP Chilidogs may have it the toughest against Bama Ice.
Top six will have almost a full day to rest before brackets on Sunday(8:30 and 10:30a.m.).
I got a "Rabbit" in this race so... I have a favorite.

I saw the Gwinnett Titans on the list a few days ago and they're no longer on it. There were only 27 teams on it when I first looked, so the other team must have dropped prior to that.

There is some implosion on a few teams. Big fish in small pond, moves to big pond, now fish food.

I would like to see more of the labeled "Big Boys" match up against each other early in pool play. The loosing team enters into bracket play with the one loss and a seeding that could possibly match them once more against another one of the "Big Boys".

If you want an intersting tournament then make the changes and level the playing field. Every team aside from the identified top tier teams are fighting tooth and nails to move deep into bracket play using their aces early. A top Major teams plays 1 game on friday, 1 game on Saturday and each game against 2 AAA teams. C'mon TD's stop the madness

Your joking Lovingit, right?
Level the playing field? This is a baseball tournament. You play whom is placed in front of you. Not "gives us an easy pool and bracket match up" then we'll let the Big Dogs win it all. This is why people comment on watered down age groups and kids playing when they should stick to rec. ball. Good teams get better. Middle of the road or poor teams "WHINE".
Stay in the little pond with the guppies. No one forced you to pay up and join.
Maybe you should only hand pick the tournaments you think you can win. Play alot of them and win them all, then brag about how good you are and how many USSSA point you have.
Maybe there should be a handicap system like golf were we spot little teams 2,3,4 runs to "give them a chance".
NOT
The TD mixed up the pool well from what we saw to start. I didn't hear any complaints then. (I know I don't like playing in tournaments far from home only to be matched up with teams that we play every week at home.) Georgia teams didn't have to play Ga. teams. Gave you and the Bama teams a chance to play someone different. From there you played to get seated as high as possible. Seating brackets were made before it started. Score as many as possible and give up the least. Simple concept.
So how did you wanted done?

Good tournament. Played out as most people guessed. I thought HP would go a little farther. Alabama is definitely putting out some good ball teams. Met some interesting families with their travelball stories. Long day Sunday for everybody.
Congrats to the Astros for winning it all.

It looks like the Astros dominated in both pool and bracket play. They scored 34 runs and allowed a measly 3 runs in bracket play. They scored 24 runs in pool play and allowed 3 runs total.

Total domination by a team with enough top tier players that go the distance. Personally, I don't think it would matter if they played the other "big boys" during pool play because the other "big boys" aren't as "big" as they think they are.

O K
I've had my third cup of coffee and I've relaxed(believe it or not coffee actually does that for me).

I meant to say "want it done" not wanted done in previous post, sorry.

This was a Super NIT. Not just a weekend tourney. You should only expect the best of the best and the teams that want to be there or just play them. Don't complain that there are better teams and you should be givin special treatment because your a small town Org.
Practice. Perfect small ball. Limit errors. HIT, HIT, HIT. That's what wins tournaments.
The top teams there this weekend had some Big boys. But that being said each one of those Big teams had their moments where little teams made those catches, advanced those runners, didn't walk those batters. Made the big plays. ADVANCED
These are young men of the ripe old age of 14.
Some org. are just better at mentally and physically getting their players ready. Others teams just win with heart and determination.
Maybe it's the coach you have or the type of training your using getting your team ready for the big tournaments. I can't say because I'm not in your shoes but don't condemn the others for being better prepared. Maybe it's time for some changes with your team?? Maybe some boys just want it more?? Being a parent I want my sons team to win because of all the hard work each boy puts into it. BUT... they're the ones on the field playing the game. Not me, not the hitting coach, not the pitching coach. We teach them "how" to use their skills best, it's up to them to apply that knowledge.
I guess it's just two different ways people look at playing the big tournaments.

It's a horse race. WIN... PLACE...SHOW. Which are you?

Hope we do better this SNIT in East Cobb. We played great ball in Auburn, just got tired in the end. We'll be going to win in EC!

Seminole Tony, Calm down!!!!! It is my opinion as you have you have stated yours. You have taken the post on as an attack against yourself and your team. Regardless, I respect every coach who volunteers his time, every parent who sacrafices their time, and "HATS OFF" to every player who gives it 100% in committing to the hard work outs, training, practice and game.

To assume that I have affiliation with one of the teams, and that possibly there needs to be changes made to the coaching or training of a team is an assumption unwarranted. So, as you stated "You can't say" then why make the comment. I enjoy reading the posts and have read many good responses from forum members without disrespect to the others. I truly and sincerely wish the best for your son as well as all the teams and players in the game. "Winning begins and is acheived within"

I can't wait to see where the teams show up that "want" to be the big boys, that think they can beat the big boys, that keep losing in the big tournaments. "Maybe you should only hand pick the tournaments you think you can win. Play alot of them and win them all, then brag about how good you are and how many USSSA point you have."
That's what we saw this weekend. Who has bragging rights in a tournament of 4?

I'm lost...what "pretenders" or "big boys" are you referring to? Many good playing and any of the top 4 or 5 could beat anybody at any time...what am i missing....the Astros are the only clear team ahead of the others as they should be!

I like to think of it as the "maturing" of the board - by this age many of us have just about seen it all. Seems a lot of the same complaints and arguments arise each year and after awhile it just goes round in circles - look at the 15 and older forums here - hear the crickets chirping there - besides at that age most posters have moved into their local high school forums to argue...:)
