Dear Parents,
The Atlanta Athletics will play their inaugural travel baseball season fall 2019. The entire season will run from August 15th, 2019 to June 30th, 2020 and encompass approximately 15 tournaments. Players are encouraged to rest their arms all of November and December and to focus on school commitments. Strength, Speed, Agility, and Flexibility sessions will take place over the winter in preparation of the Spring season. All players are encouraged to participate with their school teams in Spring 2020. Our fall travel season will begin the first week of August with spring kicking into high gear in March 2020.
Our head coach is a former Georgia State baseball player named Jake Corso. Jake was drafted out of High School by the Pittsburg Pirates as a pitcher/1st baseman and offered $400k to forgo a college education. He chose to focus on school and continued to play the game he loves. Additionally, Jake is a proven winner. He recently graduated from GA STATE and is an ideal candidate to coach our sons!
In addition to Jake, we will have paid instructors at two practices a week focusing on the proper mechanics of baseball and to provide repetitions, repetitions, and more repetitions. Guest MLB players will stop by from time to time along with other Elite guest trainers.
The weekly schedule will look the same week in and week out. See below:
Monday- Speed, Agility, and Flexibility paid training
Tuesday- Small group instruction for infield and outfield for 1 hr. Pitching and Catching for 30 minutes and a 5-station batting practice system to maximize repetitions.
Wednesday-Small group instruction for infield and outfield for 1 hr. Pitching and Catching for 30 minutes and a 5-station batting practice system to maximize repetitions.
Thursday- Field practice to use what was learned. Installation of signs, plays, etc. followed by 30-45 minutes of batting practice.
Friday- Off
Saturday- Games
Sunday- Games
For some of your sons, an opportunity MAY exist with NYO, Ninth Inning, etc. and I understand you want what's best for your son. Keep in mind there is a limited number of roster spots available on these teams. With our coach and instructor’s guidance, your son's game will improve. If your son loves the game and wants to play middle, high school or even college baseball then consider the Atlanta Athletics.
If you would like to learn more, please inquire immediately. We will begin to build a roster for our fall and spring seasons. If you want pure instruction and repetitions, consider the Atlanta Athletics.
Best,
Aaron Lucas
