We've heard from the 10U & 11U teams, but I'd like to hear your thoughts on the 13U teams. I'm curious to hear about some of the teams you have faced and who to look our for (obviously no names can be used).
As much as I would like to hear about who can throw hard, I'd be more interested in the number of quality pitchers as well as pitch control, variety, location, etc. |

| Great question. There are many very good pitchers in GA, and 13U has some great prospects. The best ones I am aware of are on the Shamrocks, Road Runners, Astros, and Home Plate. There will the diamonds in the rough that emerge as the season progresses, Mill Creek, 643 DP and a few other boys. The deepest is the Astros, also loaded with lefties. There are alot of hard throwers out there, many of these boys are learning new or perfecting pitches this season. Not much can be said until the season really gets rolling this next 60 days. |

| Something else to consider is that some of the harder throwing 13 yo kids are playing up in 14U this year to go ahead and transition to 60/90. I know my son is and I know of at least 4 others at ECB. You'll be seeing them next year when they jump back in with their age group. |

Throwing hard ain't everything. There are some very, very good junkballers at the 13u level, too. The ECB Warriors threw six innings of two-run ball against the Roadrunners at the Slugfest after the RRs had looked unbeatable by demolishing pool play with 37 runs in 3 games. It was remarkable to watch two pitchers throw an assortment of controlled off-speed stuff and keep their cool on the mound. They pitched out of jams and gave up only two or three hard-hit balls. Looked like Tom Glavine and Jamie Moyer out there to me.
Love seeing the power pitchers rack up K's, and there are plenty at this level, but it's the Greg Maddux-types that make you scratch your head after the game and wonder how they did it. |

I wasn't implying that throwing hard is everything. I was simply stating that there are a few 13's in 14U that have enough arm to be covering 60' distance and be competitive at the higher 14U levels. Trust me, they have plenty of control and at 60' you better have more than a fastball or your toast.

| The Tennessee Tornados from Ringgold, GA has several really good pitchers from Northwest Georgia. |

props to 6 4 3. From what i saw today, if there are kids better than them the 13 U Pitching is pretty stout. #7 looked like he was throwing 100mph |

| Seen a kid on the Sundevils team out of Powder Springs who had great control. He threw hard and had a good breaker. Changeup needs some work. Think he was #5. He also has good size to him. |

| a kid for the 13u Sandy Springs Team looked to be throwing a solid 80 mph. He was big too. He struck out like four of our kids in 2 innings. If he works on his pitching more I believe he will be a big prospect |

| #22 for the 13u Sandy Springs Longhorns also hit at least 295 ft. Home Run. This kid is the real deal. He pitches great is fast and has a great swing and soo much power. |

| Good pitching staffs for Shamrocks, Road Runners, 13U Astros, Home Plate and others. I think that almost every team has one or two very good pitchers. The really good teams have many more. There are hundreds of diamonds in the rough through out the state. Congrats to each one of them that are recognized for their abilities. |
