Team RBI will be holding open tryouts for their 2018-19 14U season on July 14th 9AM - 12PM. Field location and how to sign up are in the details below.
14U Team RBI Tryout Details
Where: Big Shanty Park - Field 3
When: July 14th 9AM - 12PM
Players should warm up and be ready to go before 9AM

Team RBI is a professionally coached High AAA / Low Major team based out of Big Shanty Park and the Swing Away Performance Center, all near Cobb County Airport. The core of this team has been together for three years and grew tremendously this season under the leadership of head coach Chris Halyard, posting a winning record through mixed D1 and D2 play. Chris has over 20 years of playing and professional coaching experience with 15 of his previously coached players competing at the collegiate level. Coach Chris plans to stay with this core group of players through their Highschool and Showcase years.
Team RBI expects to play in 4 tournaments this fall, with 11-12 the following Spring/Summer. We will take a look at all position players but have a preference for Pitchers, Catchers, and Lefty OF w/speed. Additional Details:
- Walkups will be welcome, but preference is given to players that signed up ahead of time.
- There will be a follow-up workout for players that cannot make the official tryout on the 14th - likely the 21st or 30th. Please sign up using the link from our top post to stay informed on schedule updates.
- Players should bring all equipment and be ready to play. We will run a simulated game at the end of the workout to game test skills and Baseball IQ.
- We will be carrying 14 players on our 2018-19 Roster with room for 1-2 PO's. PO's will pay a reduced amount (around 60% of total fees).

Below are answers to many of the questions we have been getting:
Q: What level do you expect to compete at?
A: Similar to last year, we will start with Open and High AAA, moving to Major/D1 mid-spring. After winning a couple of D2 brackets this last year, we moved into D1 and 14U with continued success - finishing 2nd place in a 14u state tournament as a 13u team.
Q: Are there specific position players you're looking for?
A: All positions are open and we will look at any player. The best player for the position will get the most starts.
Q: Why are you charging a fee for your tryout?
A: To pay our professional coach and his tryout staff for their time.
Q: Where will you play most of your tournaments, and with which organizations?
A: We will mainly play in Perfect Game and Triple Crown events around the East Cobb and Cumming area. There will be one tournament in either Savannah or Panama City on a 3-day weekend, but no major destination trip. We may also play up (15u) with some local organizers.
Q: What separates your travel organization from everyone else?
A: Unlike many paid coach programs, our coach will be there for practice, tournaments, and individual lessons. Many other programs use their coach for either tournaments or practice and we are not like that. You can also expect clear communication of expectations for both the parents and players - no backstabbing or politics.

UPDATE:
Team RBI will be hosting a private workout session ahead of open tryouts. Spots are limited for the private workout session, so interested families should contact us ASAP at 678-523-1696. Final offers will not be made until after our open workout session, this private workout will be for those families unable to attend on Saturday. |

REMINDERS
- The open tryout for Team RBI will be this Saturday 9 AM to 12 PM on field 3 @ Big Shanty Park.
- Players should arrive at least 30 minutes before official start time to warm up.
- If we get rained out then we will be rescheduling our tryout for the following weekend.
- An alternate tryout for those unable to attend this Saturday is being set up and those interested will need to contact us to get date/time/location information.
