Tryouts for the 2018 / 2019 9U Hobgood Braves will be held on June 30, 2018 from 9 - 11 am and on July 10, 2018 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. Both tryouts will be in a clinic format, and the players will be assessed during that time.

The Hobgood Braves practice at Hobgood Baseball Park in Woodstock, GA. Hobgood Braves travel baseball is one of the largest travel programs in Cherokee county.  Our Braves teams are competitive and play at different levels from AA through Majors.  Our coaches focus on providing the best instruction possible by utilizing collegiate/professional level instruction, and consistent field time at our newly renovated Hobgood park facilities.

The goal of this team will be all around player development, with a focus on the fundamentals of baseball, both physically and mentally, as well as proper work ethic. As a coach, I believe in having fun and getting better, which is reinforced in how I coach, the assistant coaches, and how we run practices and games.

We will play in a few "Sunday only" tournaments in the fall, as we encourage players to play other sports. We will also conduct winter workouts, with a continued focus on the fundamentals as we prepare for the Spring 2019 season. Spring 2019 will be a relatively full season, keeping in mind the age of the kids, as well as balancing life and baseball.

You can bring to either or both. Both gives more exposure, and a better overall evaluation (of your son and for you to evaluate us).

Registration is not needed, and it would be helpful to have an idea how many kids we can expect. Feel free to email me if needed.

A couple of people have asked about private tryouts. Given the number of teams and tryouts, that is fine. Please email me and I will do my best to accommodate.

We had a great group of players on Saturday, thank you for coming out.
Our second tryout will be the week after Independence Day. We will be on Field 10 on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, starting at 6:30.
Please arrive a little early to fill out paperwork, chat with the coach, etc.

Have a wonderful Independence Day.

Coach Hank
