Powder Springs Travel Baseball Tryout

Date: Sunday July 29th, 2018

Location: Powder Springs Park, Field 4

Time: Warmup 12PM-1PM, Tryouts 1PM-4PM

Overview: I am in search of 11 upcoming 11U baseball players in order to put together a winning Travel ball program. I played high school baseball at Carrollton High School in Georgia and D3 baseball for Maryville College out of Maryville, Tennessee. In addition, I have received and given countless lessons that have boosted my knowledge of the game over the years. I take pride in my love for the game and hope to bestow this on my players. This past little league season I coached for Powder Springs Little League and built a strong connection with many kids. While this was a great experience, I believe the greatest method aside from practice to improve your child’s baseball skillset for the future is through tournament/travel baseball. I am 24 and will not have a kid on this team. With that being said, all players trying out and that make the team will be treated fairly and without bias.

Tryouts will include hitting, pitching and fielding drills that display best what I am looking for in a player. After tryouts, I will select a team that I think gives us the best chance to win. Then we will determine the most appropriate practice times for the team. Travel baseball is a COMMITMENT! We will practice at minimum twice a week for two hours each. I understand situations arise but for the most part, I will expect your child at every practice and every game. Tournaments will be agreed upon as a group, but we will not skip a good opportunity to compete because your family is going to six flags, has a birthday party to attend, etc. Like I stated earlier, to win at this level of baseball, the parents and children alike will have to be committed.

If you want your kid to attend tryouts, please send your child’s name, birthday, position and past two previous teams. This will help me run tryouts accordingly if I have an accurate head count before hand.

Thanks and look forward to meeting you and your ballplayer
