We are building our team around a core of players that competed together at the major level last year and were considered a top 10 team in the state. We currently have 3 spots available for major level players.

We are in possession of a Cooperstown ticket and plan to go in June.

The team will be coached by Mark Williams. See Mark’s bio below.

In addition to Coach Williams, we will have a full time professional assistant coach, as well as support from the entire Colt 45 organization at East Cobb.

Tryout date : July 16, 2018
Time: 6pm-8pm
Location: East Cobb Complex field #6

Coach Williams Bio:
Williams played for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1992 through 1996 and was called up to Big League Spring Training twice during that time.  He then went on to play for the White Sox in 1996 where he was also called up to Big League Spring Training.  During this entire time, Williams had professional instruction by the late Dave Ricketts, who has instructed the likes of Mike Matheny through Yadiyir Molina.  Ricketts is well known at the professional level as one of the best catching instructors there was. Sadly, the baseball strike was going on and politics got in the way of his major league career, along with the need for Tommy Johns surgery.  Knowing his injury would keep him from continuing at the major league level, he began to work on individual player development while continuing to play professional ball in the Heartland Independent league from 1997 - 1999, and then in the Atlantic League from 1999 - 2001 when he finally elected to retire due to his injury and focus on the coaching and player development aspect of baseball.

In 2001, Williams moved back to his home town of Anderson, Indiana, where he took a job as the Assistant Baseball Coach at Anderson University alongside Coach Don Brandon, who is a Division 3 Hall of Fame Coach.  He continued to build up his business of independent player instruction where he has been able to pass on the special skills and fundamentals that Dave Rickets taught him - what he believes to be invaluable to his career.  The proof lies with the successes he celebrated with his serious students; including 2 Major League Contracts (one of whom is now a catching instructor for the New York Yankees); and 9 college scholarships.  He then went on to coach and manage highly competitive travel baseball teams in Indianapolis.
