Why does it cost so much to try out for teams? It actually is prohibitive to go to too many tryouts which hurts when you don't know the landscape. In order to attend 5-6 tryouts you can be out $300-$450. I guess they're trying to keep people from going to 100, but doesn't that hurt the quality of the team they field?
