Indians Baseball is about competing, having fun, developing skills and brotherhood.

Indians Baseball was founded in 2014 as a 12U team. Upon returning from coaching in Europe I decided to start my own program when I noticed a trend of kids moving from travel team to travel team. Some of my greatest childhood memories are of playing baseball with the same kids on the same team for 6yrs or so. Those kids are still my good friends to this very day. So I decided I wanted Indians Baseball to give kids that same experience and a team they can stay with for many years. We accomplished that by having 4 kids playing in all 7 seasons and another 3 boys playing in 5 seasons! We have had a lot of success through the years as well with over 10 USSSA championships and another 10 runner ups. We have played in Perfect Game and PBR events as well and held our own. We have 3 boys going on to play college baseball and nearly all played on their HS teams. I believe in fundamentals, teamwork, chemistry and most of all having fun!!! I have raised my voice at a player less than I have fingers on one hand. I believe in teaching and having a positive approach. Making a play in front of parents is tough, making an error in front of parents is embarrassing, having a coach yell at the boy is inexcusable!!! I believe there are always moments to teach and learn on the field in a positive manor. So after taking my 12U “Alpharetta Indians” all the way to 18U as “Indians Baseball “ and watching them all grow up and move on to college I decided to keep a good thing going. My life is baseball, I’ve been involved in the game my whole life as a youth player, professional player and professional coach. Worked with kids of all ages and in different countries speaking different languages. Bottom line is it’s what I do and I feel I have a lot more to give to kids who wish to learn the game. Details on Coach Smith’s background are at the bottom of this posting.
