It seems to me that 9U travel baseball has become so dillute with so many teams!!! With every dad thinking their son is the next baseball prodigy, and every park starving for that ever elusive dollar, we have now ended up with a glorified and much more expensive REC travel program.... When I played as a kid there was only one team from each park picked to represent that park. It was something to really be proud of achieving since only 11 made it each year. Players pushed themselves harder. Dad's were irrelevant!! You made it on your performance and overall ability to play baseball. The Majors talk about baseball losing its purity due to steriods, youth baseball is losing its purity due to a daddy ball and MONEY!!!
