Looking to buy 28/18 2 3/4 barrel and 29/19 2 3/4 barrel bat for my sons. Have always swung the Easton XL3. First year in kid pitch. What's a good kid pitch bat?

I would recommend the XL1 or XL3 or the DeMarini VooDoo. We just bought the DeMarini and it's been a great bat for us so far.

My son has always used Easton and currently he swings the SL3 29/19 and is very happy with it.

The XL1 or XL3 is for kids 8 and under but I think you know that.

I don't think it's as much "under 8" as it is speed of pitch, correct? I think the XL1/3 is rated for like 40 MPH. Anything above, the bat COULD dent.

By the way, my son won a CF7 (DeMarini), and it's an AMAZING bat.

My older kids - we always used Easton.

My last one left - he has been using Combat for three years. I wouldn't switch off of them. Not only because he has been the catalog boy....they are hot bats.

I'd recommend the newest version of the Portent...think it's "G3".

The one with orange accents is a drop 10...but that green one is a drop 12.

Louisville Slugger Catalyst -12. Very hot bat and gets hotter the more you hit.

I am hearing a lot of good things about the LS Assault, Senior League. My son dented his Worth(still don't know how), so he's using a 27/15 Mako. I have a Rawlings 5150, 28/18 for the Fall.

Dirty South Bats which are made in Georgia. Composite 2 5/8 bat with tons of pop. They are starting to get a large grass roots following. Their sister companies manufacture race cars, road cars and other exotic endeavors. I never purchased a bat from a real estate company before (corporate office), but we are certainly glad that we did.

XL1 goes up to BBCOR and XL3 goes up to -5.

When we got my son his XL1 -8, I did a lot of research and I thought I remember the XL3 was Speed=Power, to help not as strong kids, whereas the XL1 is Mass=Power for stronger, bigger kids. Not sure where the 8under part comes in. My son's XL1 is a 30/22. This bat is as hot as I have seen. Sounds great too and seems to be getting hotter as this is its second season in play.
We will do the Hittrax thing at better baseball next time we buy one, but already I am thinking an XL1 31/26 for next season, if we dont go BBCOR which is also a consideration.

I personally think the BEST bat for your kid would be the one he thinks looks "COOL"

Combat Maxum 2 5/8 barrel is the best bat on the market . very low MOI . faster thru the zone and tons of pop and here is the best part VERY DURABLE ! all bats have a warranty but its really one break then a replacement.

After shipping 4 Eastons and L.S. & a 5150 back in 2 season I bought combat maxum and have yet to return one .

ONLY COMBAT FROM CANADA NOT THE CHINA KNOCK OFF like JB is trying to sell at the moment .

we play on a travel team and play approx. 40-50 games a year and practice several times a week ...It gets used a lot . Just my 2 Cents

How do you know you're getting one from Canada?
