Sawnee Mtn. Thunder 13u will be holding open tryouts on Aug. 8th and Aug. 15th at 11:00 at Sawnee Mtn. Park, Field #1. Tryouts are free.
The SM Thunder organization is entering its 4th year and we has gone from 8 to 19 to 33 wins over our 1st 3 seasons. Last season, we won the Lanier League title, a USSSA tournament and were in 4 other finals. Player and team development are emphasized and that has produced wins.
The head coach of Sawnee Mtn. Thunder is John Arundale. Coach Arundale is the varsity asst. coach at Forsyth Central High School and has been on staff there for 5 seasons. Part of our player development philosophy is to prepare players for high school play.
Sawnee Mtn. Thunder is not an academy but we are very serious about our baseball. We will have a fall season, 10-12 indoor sessions and a 40-50 game spring schedule. We will also have an end of the season beach trip. Football, basketball and soccer is not an issue.
Tryouts are Aug. 8th and 15th but a private tryout can be arranged if necessary. If interested or have questions please feel free to call Coach Arundale at 706-338-6041 or email jarundale@forsyth.k12.ga.us
