Do yourself, and your kid, a favor and don't guess what will work best for him. Go to better baseball, spend $20 on the Hittrax and hit with all the bats you want. It will give you a computer printout of what bat suits your sons swing the best and IF you actually buy a bat that day the cost of the Hittrax gets subtracted from the cost of the bat.
My son used ONLY Easton 7u-12u, he adored Easton, he named the dang dog Easton! He went into the hittrax cage with multiple bats, half of which were Easton and didn't hit well with ANY Easton BBCOR bat, the Rawlings 5150 won out. The "hot" BBCOR bats this year have been the 916, the Easton XL-1, the Rawlings 5150, and the Rawlings Velo...but really it boils down to how your son swings and your budget. The Rawlings 5150 was less than $200 brand new 2016 model...the rest are WAY more. |
