So the first third of the season is in the books. Plenty of ball left to be played and time to move up the pecking order in 10u baseball. I don't understand why the Colt 45's have been given so much love. I am dropping them in my rankings. They have proven that they are a "solid" team and a "deep" team. They are good at making finals, but they aren't built to win Championships. Heck, they are the team you want to see if you make the finals of a 10u tournament. No chance to close the deal.

1. East Cobb Astros- wins over pretty much everyone in the Top 10. Built to win on Sundays, deep pitching, great defense. I am not sold on their bats though, definite weakness is their inability to go big if their pitching fails them. Anxious to see what happens as other teams bats heat up in the 2nd half of the season. Great team

2. 6-4-3 Cougars- Scrappy team with some great wins this season. Closed the deal at the Triple Crown Easter Shootout for a good tournament victory. Played Astros to a 1-0 close loss as well. Very tough tournament team that is not afraid to take one down.

3. Elite Gamers- Never count them out. Season after season after season, these coaches put together a group that will find a way to beat you. They have had some bad stretches and some hot stretches. Wins and Losses against almost all teams. A great Triple Crown Tournament win earlier this season. Lacking a shut down ace. They could use a big time pitcher.

4. Signature Park Bears- Big Bats and inconsistency is what you get from these guys. From a Perfect Game Tournament Win to a horrible showing in Super NIT. Also has Triple Crown and an 11u USSSA tournament championships. No one wants to play them when they are hot, and everyone wants a piece when they aren't pitching or playing defense.

5. CR Baseball- Not an Atlanta team, so they don't get a lot of love. They are hot of late having gone 7-0 against 11u teams winning two straight tournaments. Decent showing at Super NIT. Very deep pitching, not overwhelming, but deep.

6. Colt 45's- Some great wins, very deep team. Just don't have the players, power, or pitching to take a tournament down. You don't want to play them early on Sunday though. They have owned those games. Have lost in finals of 5 tournaments...Lost to SP Bears in Perfect Game and to the Astros all the other times.

7. Outkast- Emotional team from S GA, only team to beat up on the Astros, and they aren't scared of anybody. Will compete extremely hard and they have an ACE with a 2 foot curveball and 60mph. If they can make a finals with their Ace left, watch out. Need another pitcher in a bad way.

8. Team Elite South- Don't get to see too much of them, but had a good showing at Super NIT here and just took down the Florida Panhandle Super NIT. Looking forward to these guys coming back up to ATL.

9. Lynx- Don't get to see enough of these guys, but a very well coached team, plenty of pitching, and a lot of sticks. Not elite defense. Good wins of SP Bears and Chilidogs at Super NIT

10. Parkview- Maybe this team should be higher. They have some great wins, but they just aren't deep enough to win a big tournament. You don't want to play them early with their top 2 pitchers available though. That is when they can't beat anyone. Wins over Chili, Gamers, CR, etc...

Honorable Mention

11. Home Plate Chilidogs- Something is off with them this season. They are still dangerous, but pitching seems down, defense is suspect, and they aren't crushing the ball like they did last season. All the pieces are there though, and this will probably be the team most likely to move into top 3 after a bad start to their season.

12. Giants- Hate seeing they were moved out of Major. I wonder if their coach asked to be moved. They are certainly better than Five-Star, Jaguars, Club, and Dacula. Well tested team, that can scare ppl, just don't have the horsepower to win a Major tournament.
