I wouldn't be so quick to classify either Brookwood or Gamers as AAA. Those are two solid teams with good bats. If they continue to face teams like OP and Bandits they'll be right there in the hunt soon.

Agree with AllStar in his list:

I would add Gainesville and Showcase to the Major watch list.
I would add Batmen, Fusion and Fence Busters to AAA watch list.

All of these teams would represent Georgia well. They would be my top 6 for each classification from what we have seen so far.

And by the way this is a great format as you get 4 pool play games against Florida teams. Then top 2 Georgia play each other to advance to Championship game vs Florida Champion. Fun tournament with good baseball teams.

Only negative is the Gnats are everywhere.

pretty much agree on this but coming down to 4 might get competitive for the 3 & 4 spots. Probably 3 to 4 teams who can make a run those.

I think it is still very competitive for the 2, 3, and 4 spot.

Bandits are the only lock.

Is this the same Brookwood team that played GGBL last season?

I think the FLA/GA Event is a really cool format.
However, here is a novel idea. Instead of everyone giving there opinions about who should play for USSSA and USSSA actually using that info to invite teams. Why not have to qualify for it?

Why not usse the Spring NIT as that platform.
Top 4 teams get an invite and have 48 hours to accept them move down the line?

Just saying since the points system in based on how much you pay and ranking system is usually pretty laughable.

Just saying, make someone earn an invite as opposed to write a check because some tells a director he thinks these are the ones.

ABA Comanche - I hear what you are saying but one tournament shouldn't be the deciding factor.

The teams I listed above continue to play in the best tournaments and continue to win.

This is Ga vs Florida and we need to make sure we get this correct.
Playing a lot of events and playing the best teams each weekend is what I am looking for.

Teams that choose to play in Southern Sports when the big boys are in TC, USSSA, or TL do not impress me.

But hell my wife and daughter tell me every day that I do not know a thing.

I am sure the right teams will end up there.

Through the elimination of some of the upper tier teams and better recruiting, GA teams have finally done a decent job of pooling together talented teams to rival the Fla groups. It's been diluted up to this point in GA. Glad we finally saw some of this eliminated.

Totally agree allstars. Play the big tournaments and let the record stand. The GA teams who went last year in 9u were the right ones. If it ain't broke...

Except for it is an USSSA tournament not Triple Crown, Southern Sports, or Training Legends. Training Legends and Southern Sports don't hold events out side of the GA.

Oh and how many teams above AA have played USSSA this Fall? It's basically non existent in 10 Major and AAA unless you leave the state.

I kind of get what your saying, but as travel ball has evolved qualifying for something has gone away. Anyone can write a check and play in just about anything. Look at the 100+ world series options.

It doesn't have to be the Spring NIT, but USSSA should run a tournament roughly the last weekend of March and any team that wants to play in the FLA/GA Event should have to play and/qualify. It would at least give some worth to a weekend tournament and status to who gets to rep our state. It would also give USSSA a weekend to push people to play.

My point is if it is this exclusive group then various people who don't work for USSSA should not be factors in picking it. Also weekend tournaments where tournament directors line up the best teams vs the worst teams in pool play doesn't really show that much. The better teams don't have to touch their top 3 pitchers in the Fall until their 1 bracket game

A few years ago I receive a call to ask if a our facility team that I did not coach would be good with reclassing from AA to Major to play in the FLA/GA event. Also seen teams that were invited when other teams were not. When the team that was left out had not lost to multiple teams invited in over 2 years.

Just saying I am all for competition. I generally see where people stand. Where we stand pretty clear. I just think it would make more sense for everyone if there was an extra tournament a month that had value other than a weekend event and who you draw in pool play effects who can match up in bracket play. Maybe a weekend 1 pool game double elimination bracket.

Just saying.

Showcase is not registered as a AAA team so they would be out of the probably top 4 major teams.
