10th Annual 2019 Georgia/Florida Showdown NIT

It's that time of year again.....

*Who is going to be the best of the best next spring?

*What 4 teams gives GA the best chance to win the belts/rings against the powerful FL teams? (must score runs but everyone knows "this" tournament format comes down to pitching, pitching and more pitching)

*Who deserves invites/consideration to represent GA (on AND off the field) in Valdosta GA in this age group?

Please reply or simply send me a private email at bubba.smith@usssa.com

Have a great day!!!

IMO there are 7 teams to consider....

Force Academy (Didn't see them this fall, but I hear they are improved & are always one of the best)

Kennesaw Generals (went 3-1 last year in the GA/FL) Certainly have the pitching depth to compete to win this tournament. Added 3 talented players from Next Lvl to their already stacked roster.

ReMix Crownbreakers (Great squad, great coaching - some great additions) Will be a top 5 team in the state.

East Side Rawlings Red (Also went 3-1 last year in Valdosta) Well coached & know how to win on a consistent basis)

ECB Navy (Combined with GA Bombers - Didn't get to see them play this fall, but their roster speaks for itself) I expect they will be in the conversation every tournament.

Rawlings Cobb (Did well this fall. Another well coached team with tons of talent)

Velo Baseball (I saw them in a TC tournament 2 weeks ago. Went 3-0 and looked very solid. Jason has this team playing very well.

This Fall it seems like Kennesaw Generals and Eastside keep meeting in the Championship game against each other. Both teams look very good with deep pitching and that is what it takes to compete in Valdosta. With that said, I think both Kennesaw and Eastside should get a hard look for the Showdown.

I have a feeling this 10u group is going to be hard to select. Can somebody say "qualifying tournament". just saying......

I donít have a dog In this fight but from what Iíve seen this fall the Kennesaw Generals have added some studs to their roster and will compete against anyone out there. Very deep pitching.

East Side looks strong this fall with what looks like some new faces as well. Not sure how deep their pitching goes.

Rawlings Cobb looked pretty good this fall as well.

I got a chance to witness Velo which was another team to look really good on the diamond.

Iím sure Force will be strong as well. Didnít get a chance to see them this fall.

Velo is good. We tied them first time out this fall but had to throw my best arm. They showed what happens when you don't throw your best against them in the championship game (we got a rematch after both going 1-0-1 in pool). They spanked us.

Also tied Rawlings last spring but they are very talented too. We were lucky to hang with them.

East Side put it on us. Ripped off an 8-10 run inning early and it was over. Very well coach and very fundamental. Deep pitching rotation and most of their kids seem to be able to play multiple spots.

Haven't see the others, but all three of those teams can beat anybody in state on any given day.

I didn't realize Crownbreakers was the old Meridian team. Played them too. Top to bottom I think they're probably the best team we've seen this past spring or this fall, and we've played 4 of the teams listed. I'd love to see a tournament between all of them.

I love these debates over all the teams, 10U this year is a very stacked group with multiple talented teams. Itíll be interesting to see all who gets in but only time will tell.

Line Drive out of Pooler, GA definitely deserves to be in as they won the first fall Super NIT of the year in Sourh Carolina, they beat us(ECB Navy), Knoxville Stars, SBA Pitts, SBA Simmons, and Beehive Scout.

Looking forward to a great year from everyone but as we all know fall doesnít mean anything once the spring rolls around.
Good Luck Everyone,

- Force
- East Side
- Velo
- East Cobb Navy

No clue about Line Drive but looks like they beat some good teams.

Is Ninth Inning combining w/ Breakers again?

Nobody really knows what will happen with rosters over the coming months. Always fun to watch.

@USSSAGA Qualifying Tournament sounds like fun to me. Pick 8 teams who actually want to play in the GA/FL showdown & letís run it!

Seems hard to do a qualifying tournament as a lot of these teams already have a booked spring/summer. Pick you best 4 and go with it!!!

Ninth inning is good too. Played them this fall also. No glaring weaknesses on their team, and a lot like CrownBreakers, they're not easy to run on. Those two clubs having top notch catchers makes a huge difference.

Wow! No love for Team GA who have merged with another great team, Yard Dawgs! Sleep on them...wonít be good for ya! Prob not on my top 4 but someone shouldíve mentioned them.

Line Drive not in the conversation? Folks...there are more teams in GA than the same handful being mentioned, just sayin!

Georgia needs the top 4 that consistently win in effort to put pressure on the Florida teams. We cannot allow FL to have a cake walk game and not get into their good arms.

I put zero into fall. New teams formed, developing depth and multiple sport players...Iím not ready to crown anybody because they win a Fall one day. Letís be honest, Fall tourneys take very little pitching compared to a full weekend Super NIt grind.Taking into consideration history, team mergers we know about and roster size/depth...my 4

-East Cobb Astros Navy
-Line Drive
-Kennesaw Generals

We will see! Canít wait for spring!

East Cobb Navy & Kennesaw have taken over the forum... Round of applause, yet holes in arguments for either since everyone has added pieces or so called 10 year old "studs" to their rosters which is crazy to me for people to speak of a 10 year old child in that manner. As for the "cake walks" you're referencing @Camentz: East Side, Velo, & CrownBreakers. Funny that they're the only 3 teams besides Force & Line Drive to actually beat someone who mattered this fall season while you're ducking and dodging Kennesaw. Looks like those are the 5 teams who might should be spoken of. One contradiction in your argument, to only make your own team look better (@Camentz)... no weight being put into the fall season, yet Line Drive is showing in your top 4 even though unheard of in this forum prior to a Fall NIT win. Something isn't stacking up as the agenda is being put out there with no truth or logical reasoning in place yet now roster depth is also being taken into consideration as well...funny how that is now added to your equation since it helps no one but your own & roster of 14-18+. Someone's a little shaky. You're covering that agenda man, just isn't making any sense. @Maxpatkin, Ninth Inning & Breakers never combined in the past, it was just Ninth Inning along with one kid from what is now the breakers while you had the whole state of GA on your side and ??? Agendas are there, not much substance. Glad the two EC coaches are the only two to put up "their" actual 4. Don't think they'd like to see the truth from the remainder of the audience.

Well we certainly donít need to put a lot of weight into any of these posts. But fun to insert the nickel and watch the lights blink.

@johwell, for clarification I am not an EC coach

But good luck to everyone...thatís why they play the game! And we pay the bills for them. All great kids with varying talents. Fun to watch them and this forum!

ďYou guys. You lollygag the ball around the infield. You lollygag your way down to first. You lollygag in and out of the dugout. You know what that makes you? Larry!Ē
