Is it common to have 2 SNIT's. Will the winner of the 11open SNIT get a berth to Elite WS? All the teams listed are major, however looks like an easier route to WS?

Other states have SNITs and generally award two berths I believe. A good question is how many states do have them? Never checked into that before. Haven been to one in Tn. Ga. and Al.

How does it work? There are I believe two teams in the tournament (in Auburn) who have already qualified for Elites. If those two teams were to finish first and second, do the berths go to the 3rd and 4th place teams? 16 slots have been filled. No Georgia teams have qualified yet. Will this be the weekend? Good luck to all the teams.

The births go to the top 2 in major bracket. If any of those already qualified the berths get passed down to lower finishers.

Alright anyone out there willing to take a stab at the top 10 seeds going into bracket play? Some great talent in this one. Was surprised not to see a few that are playing elsewhere this weekend though.

Astros lost to Cracker Jacks 8-0? Is that score right?

The 8-0 score is a forfeit. Our team was called for an "illegal" player after leading 10-0 in the 3rd

All players have to be registered with USSSA to be in USSSA tournaments before play.

Plus a forfeit to GA Hurricanes for 1st round bracket?
Ouch!
Didn't someone post recently that the Astros added a couple of CA kids just for this tournament? Has to be frustrating!

How does a elite major team not verify their roster? I am sure there is more to the story and perhaps two sides but this has to be embarrassing.

Feel bad for the kids.....I agree there must be more to the story. Sad thing is the Astros should've been able to go deep in the tourney without adding anyone.

Suspensions and Forfeits! What is going on with ECB 11u baseball? Two teams this weekend were "booted" out of tournaments over roster issues. One team was told minutes before they were supposed to play that they could not participate. The other team was told in the middle of game 2 they could not play anymore. You can go to www.gausssabaseball.com and click on suspensions and for the details of one coach and team's suspension. You have to feel very badly for all the kids involved in these "messes." Coaches, it can't be that hard to prepare a roster accurately. If nothing else, your kids deserve better than what they got from you this past weekend.

Congrats to the GA Sting for making a nice run and finishing 3rd this past w/e in the AL SNIT.

Since the 1st & 2nd place teams were already e32 qualified, does this mean we FINALLY have an 11u e32 representative from Georgia?

I hope so and again...WAY TO GO STING.

On another note, what drama in the 11u bracket. That wool blankie is sure starting to itch!

Just trying to figure out how the issue of ineligible players was discovered, and how someone protested with results in such a quick fashion...

Was the roster compared to the USSSA team roster online at the time the lineups were exchanged?

I think there are different situations. We have had a few issues in Calif with Rosters and our State Director handles them differently. One was a older boy playing on a younger team and the coaches knew. So that was a Year Suspension for both player and coach because the intent was to cheat was there. Then there was a team that said they realeased a player and didn't then called them on it. So the Director removed the kid from play and did not penalize the team. What I am trying to say is that every situation is different and should be treated that way.

Wow...12's playing on 11U...what will some do just to win. These companies that sponsor teams like this should pull the plug in my opinion. This is about developing the kids but apparently winning is more important based on this story.

If you have x players on a roster and they bat x + 1, well ? Ron White said it best.

A coach registered the complaint / protest and since the player wasn't on the roster, there was no online roster to compare a lineup to. Apparently, somebody know the player wasn't on the roster and informed the team playing.

If you are a top team everyone will be looking. Whether it was discussed prior or not why risk it? Everyone knows the rules and some chose to follow them and some chose to play by their own. Yes there are degrees of violations like mentioned before, it will be interesting to see what the outcome will be.

As far as the tournament goes, the Sting have a solid ballclub and they can hit with anyone. They have impressed me as they seem to be getting better each week.

Which brings up another question; when a team has a tendency to make many roster changes, do other coaches check the lineup cards against the online roster more diligently?

Steel- I keep the book for our team using iscore, I input all the teams roster from current on usssa. So if I get a line up without a player already on team we are playing means further investigation is needed. I only worry about teams we are playing, it is not my place to snitch on another team if it does not affect ours. Rosters & innings pitched I keep track of and consider it part of keeping our book.

We have never checked the scorebook .vs. the USSSA roster as we would think that something "strange" would not go on in a game between 11 year old kids. Winning is not that important Based on the events that took place over the weekend with several teams, we will certainly begin checking them from now on.

I have said it all year that I thought the Sting was one of the better team in Georgia. Congrats on punching your ticket to the Elites World Series.

The events of this last weekend were really sad for Georgia baseball. There has been a lot aired in this forum and a lot more posts that are not public. I have had to deal with enough arbitrations in the business world and baseball world to know that rarely is the total truth ever known. People can have good intentions and make serious mistakes along with the those that have bad intentions and none of us have the ability to read minds to ever know how it was rationalized. Bottom line is the system seems to be working. Those that made the rules enforced them and there will or have been consequences. There are a lot of families that have been adversely affected and especially young kids which I am sure do not understand what is going on or how it happened. Let the organizations and families affected make their decisions about appropriate actions and lets turn our attention to those teams that went to these tournaments, played by the rules and performed well.
