What is the going rate or percentage fee for a PO.
Full price of a position player, 75%, 50%???
Does the team work with pitchers at practice or primarily work on bP and fielding?
Just trying to see what to expect and what different organizations do with pitchers.
If they get a reduced fee, are they pretty much responsible for getting their own pitching lessons or help?

These are all great questions to ask the coach of whatever team his is interested in playing for. The answers to these questions WILL be different from team to team. Some teams will charge less, some will charge the same. Some teams work with their pitchers, some don't. Some teams expect pitchers to be there every game, some only expect them there when they are going to start.
I think you are not getting specific answers because it can vary so much. All these questions you have - ask the coach before you commit to a team...

Now we are getting somewhere. To your quesions:
1. Teams work very little with pitchers.
2. Pitchers are expected to hone their craft away from the practices. Think about it, does the kid want lessons from a real pitching coach or a base running coach?
3. The reduced cost is because a PO can only play in every 4th game or so.
4. You are paying for coaches fees, uniforms, tourney entrance fees (some of the good ones can be a $2500 fee), practice time/location.
You want the team to ignore the PO, pitchers can be very prone to "break", you want him with a professional that knows the kid inside and out and can see when he starts to go off and do something bad in his motions. You also don't want the average coach trying to fit in 12 pitching lesson in 3 hours every week.
Pitchers are vital, they need specialized training. |

Ok so for me here are the rules for POs
1) No PO is under 14 years old
2) No PO throws less than 80
3) It is not how hard he or she throws, but how quickly can they get through innings? Velocity is a bonus
4) I don't EVER want a PO to play for free because then you are dumping their fees on yourself or other parents |

I probably wasn’t being clear....
I have talked to at least two dads this year whose kids are “throwing 75” and one parent on our team who raves about this poem on on another team that is “consistently in the mid 70’s.” 65, 56, 71 in the dirt and 68 for a strike.
My son doesn’t throw 86 yet. I was being a little sarcastic. Truthfully, I am not interested in him being a PO...even though I call him that sometimes to make fun of him for eating Goldfish in the dugout....because, like that kid from LSU, he hits nukes!

Yeah it depends. If the speeds are off, the innings and opportunities don't match the expense/time/travel involved.
So I'd say be thruthful, or you may be shown the exit quickly, no refunds.
