Posted - 01/19/2009 : 22:46:54 Thanks Jay and Rick for the additional details. I had heard rumors of the park at Louisville for a couple of years. We met Lou up in Cooperstown last year. He is well respected in the baseball community and has crossed paths with a ton of baseball people over the years. It will be interesting to see the park come to completion, and see these tournaments take shape. Good luck with getting this going strong. I am sure we will get in some of the tournaments. |

I’ve heard a few other people say Nations Baseball was created by another organization’s past state directors. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Nations Baseball was created by Lou Presutti, the founder of Cooperstown Dreams Park. As I’m sure you would agree, Lou is one of the most respected men in youth baseball today.
According to Lou, for the past 7 years he has studied how “several other” tournament associations are running their companies and wanted something better. Add this to the fact that every year Lou has 100’s of people from across the country ask him, why he doesn’t form a better tournament association. Lou decided to create Nations Baseball and not until then did Lou contact 3 well respected State Directors and offered them the opportunity to help build what will soon be one of the top tournament associations in the country.
Nations Baseball played it’s 1st tournament in Aug. of last year. As of today, Nations Baseball has 20 State Directors in place across the country. These State Directors are not just past USSSA State Directors, we have a past BPA State Director in California, a past USTBA State Director in Mississippi and several CABA State Directors from up north have joined the Nations Baseball team.
Bottom line, Nations Baseball wasn’t created overnight by some disgruntled state directors from other organizations. It started 7 years ago and was planned out in order to give kids, teams and parents more opportunities than they are getting with any other tournament association.
Nations Baseball has several other programs that will be implemented in the very near future. I can’t release any information on these programs until they are finalized. However, we at Nations Baseball will continue to work hard to provide kids, teams and parents more opportunities through travel baseball than they are getting with any other tournament associations in the country.
We promise honesty, integrity, better communication and respect to all teams who play Nations Baseball events in Georgia.
If you have any other questions, comments or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me any time.

While there are similarities among all baseball organizations, there are a number of things that separate Nations Baseball from other organizations.
Nations Baseball Park Plans are now underway for the construction of Nations Baseball Park in Louisville, KY. Scheduled for completion in the spring of 2010, Nations Baseball Park will be one of the largest and most dynamic complexes in the country. Nations Baseball Park will feature week long tournaments throughout the summer months for teams in the 10u, 11u and 13u age groups. Future events will allow Georgia teams the opportunity to earn guaranteed berths to Nations Baseball Park. Nations Baseball is the only youth baseball organization in the United State that affiliates with the future Nations Baseball Park.
Cooperstown Dreams Park In 2009, one hundred Nations Baseball registered teams from across the country will be able to earn a guaranteed berth to Cooperstown Dreams Park through Nations Baseball events. Plans are now underway for events in Georgia where this season’s 11u teams can earn a limited number of guaranteed berths to the 2010 Cooperstown Dreams Park Tournaments. No other Tournament Association in the country can offer this exciting opportunity.
Metal-Wood Bat Tournaments Metal-Wood Bats will be the new craze starting in 2009. Brand new Metal-Wood Bats are available at select events in 2009. If you host wood bat tournaments and would like to talk to us about Metal-Wood Bats, contact your State Director for more information on how Nations Baseball of Georgia can supply bats for your event at little or no cost to you.
Lower Sanctioning Fees Tournament Directors and teams wishing to host Nations Baseball events will appreciate this. Nations Baseball has established the lowest tournament and per team sanctioning fees in the state, thus allowing you greater resources in which to build your program. Further, these lower sanctioning fees provide you with greater flexibility in the pricing of your events. Nations Baseball sanctioning fees also include your tournament liability insurance. Nations Baseball will provide appropriate documentation to any park or organization in the United States.
Nations Baseball of Georgia Scholarship Program One of our main goals at Nations Baseball of Georgia is to help Student Athletes further their education through our Nations Baseball of Georgia Scholarship Program. All profits from Metal-Wood Bats sold at tournaments played in Georgia will go into our Nations Baseball of Georgia Scholarship Fund. Plans are to present our 1st Scholarship in the summer of 2010. More information on this exciting opportunity will be released soon.
State of the Art Registration and Roster Management System The Nations Baseball roster system features interaction with the parents of every player so that there is an accountability mechanism for every roster move made to any player in the system. Coaches and parents both will benefit from the website communication manager which explains the implications of any roster move made to any player.
Team Sanctioning Nations Baseball offers four distinct classifications of play. The Metro Division is for recreational league teams. The Select Division is the entry level to select baseball. The Elite Division is a more competitive brand of baseball, with most players having been involved with select baseball for several years. The Premier Division is the highest level of competition offered. All sanctioned teams will be covered by the most comprehensive insurance plan in the country.
Park League Sanctioning – Metro Division Local park leagues now have the opportunity to sanction with Nations Baseball. Each league team will receive the insurance needed to play and be eligible to play in Nations Baseball events throughout the country. Further, leagues will have the ability to send teams to the annual Metro Nationals. Plans are in the works to offer a Team/Player Package for the 2010 season which will include team sanctioning fees, team league insurance, uniforms, one dozen game baseballs, and year-end trophies for players. More details about this exciting program will be forthcoming in the near future.
Greg, I hope this summary provides you with some additional information about Nations Baseball. If you have had any prior experience with Cooperstown Dreams Park and Lou Presutti you know that he is all about creating the best and highest quality baseball experience for kids in the country. Many people from around the country (and here in Georgia), who had roots in other baseball organizations like USSSA, CABA, etc., have come onboard with Nations Baseball because we are committed to creating that kind of organization that consistently delivers high quality, cost conscious baseball events that players enjoy, and coaches and parents appreciate.
Finally, as it relates to the metal-wood bats, as stated above we will be providing these bats at our tournaments Since we distribute them for the state of Georgia, we will also have them for sale at each event for $25 less than what you can purchase them off of the internet. These bats come in sizes 28"-33" and are made in -3, -5 and -7 drops. Further and also previously stated above, we are using the profits derived from metal-wood bat sales to fund our Nations Baseball of Georgia Scholarship Program.
I would welcome discussing our organization with you at greater length. You can reach me at (404) 281-2285 or by e-mail at jay.andrews@nations-baseball.com. |

Posted - 01/18/2009 : 19:31:55 Jay, It is my understanding that Nations is made up of a lot of former USSSA Directors. Can you tell us what teams can expect to be different/better with Nations baseball? I see points, rankings, etc, which are the same with USSSA. I was just hoping you could give us some additional details. Thanks
The metal-wood bats are the ones with metal handles with wood barrel. I see there is an area talking about having tournaments specifically using these. Is the tournament going to supply the bats, or will the teams need to bring their own? If the teams are required to bring their own, what efforts have taken place to supply local sporting goods stores with these bats? Just curious
