I have just found this website and glad to see others that are as passionate about baseball as we are in South Georgia. We (Stixx)are excited about the up and coming Super NIT in Atlanta in March. It appears to be a star studded lineup of teams.

Until we picked up the Sluggers kid that was playing 10U last year we did play with nine. We held this slot open because we really wanted this kid and he has been well worth the wait. But there were several tense moments playing with nine as every time one of our kids slid you could sense the forfeit. But we made it through with no problems but I wouldn't recommend the nine player thing. It is much too stressful.

I totally agree with what you're saying about these "posse" teams with 15-25 players. Why cant USSSA limit it to say 12? These posse's aren't real teams at all. They've found a loophole in the rules that gives them an advantage, and they're taking advantage of it. My son's been playing the Bandits since he was 7, and I recall seeing only 9 Bandits until just last Spring.

I think USSSA should have:all-star,AA,AAA,Majors,&Posse classifications.
In the "posse" class, there are no official rosters, just show up with birth certs, and as many boys as you can stuff into the dugout.

I completely get your point and agree that it might be working for them. Its only a huge advantage in the bigger tournaments such as Disney or Cooperstown. And its not that I don't get it because I do but I don't agree with it. Our kids are 10 years old and are on the team to be playing not watching. If they do bring 23 players then I figure 14 are on the bench. We take our games one pitch and one pitcher at a time. We are discussing carrying a couple of good pitchers to Cooperstown but other than that when you beat the Bandits you can say you've beat the Bandits "I have a favorite saying that you might want to share " I would rather get beat playing with my players that I had win with someone else's players."

PaPa, I understand your humor here, but say 10 of them are strong pitchers when the rest of us are trying to compete with a roster of 11 with 6 strong pitchers, then we're all in trouble. I keep trying to bring up this point, but nobody seems to get it. If you look at the top 5 teams nationally, this is the formula that's working. 20+ players, not a team but a posse. You guys are naive to think you can beat this. They bounce their players between age groups and posse teams to reduce bench time. mizuno glory gets it. we dont.

I read in one of the posts that Mizuno had 23 players on their roster which is fine by me as long as they understand that its only 9 at a time.

Welcome Stixx,
BBall123 here,my statement on your roster was predicated by the fact that I know some of those family's, and in the fall I was told that those older boys were playing with the 11u team and of course the Bay Bomber was just filling in. With the roster that you are saying you are bringing, The Stixx will surely be a force to be recond with and playing against that talent will make us all better!
Im looking forward to seeing some GREAT baseball This spring.Again Welcome!

We have the same team together with the exception on the 1 bay bomber that played with us. There were three guys that were playing up with the other team last year that are going to remain in the 10u age group this year. We are looking forward to the opportunity to play some great teams.

Glad you found us. Can't wait to get to the Super NIT and play what should be some great baseball. Has your team stayed intact since the fall. There were some rumblings in the post that you might not get to keep the Bay Bomber players and that there might have been a couple that were playing down in the fall that will move back up to 11U. Whatever the case we know to expect a strong, well oiled maching for the tournament and will try and be prepared.

About Mizuno they've lost to the USA Patriots 10u and RBI Hawks 10u but when they go to ATL they'll probably have kids from both of those teams

We're glad you're coming and look forward to some great games. It won't be as easy for any of us this time as this thing is l-o-a-d-e-d

STIXX --- Welcome. I saw your team in the fall and right now I think you and the Bandits are the teams to beat in GA. Good luck!
Stixxbaseball Posted - 02/12/2009 : 14:03:33
Don't know anything about them other than their reputation is a strong team.
