Typically if teams play 1 game, the tournament would only refund half the entry fee. If a team plays 2 games, there is typically no refund.

If they are saying they will be giving 2/3's back for teams that played a game, that is a lot better than typical.
betterbball Posted - 03/16/2009 : 22:41:28
They are saying they are going to keep a third from the teams that played.
greglomax Posted - 03/15/2009 : 22:51:49
How many games got played, per team. I assume they are working on the standard refund policy of 1 game gets 1/2 refund and 2 games get no refund.

my point exactly as I stated earlier. Can we say refund

Just received a phone call. Tournament director has canceled the tournament (it's raining again in TN & GA)
tuckersbo Posted - 03/14/2009 : 10:18:00
All Saturday games have been canceled. Coaches will be called at 8:30 tonight regarding tomorrow's plans.
tuckersbo Posted - 03/13/2009 : 22:46:20
Just got a call saying that Saturday's games will not begin until noon...my guess is that they might resume at noon on Sunday. Brackets will be posted tomorrow at 11 (at the ballfields...not on a website).

It's still pouring in Chattanooga. They are playing the games and are on schedule. 10U information I know: North GA Cougars won. Bandits won 11-0 (played the Boys from Sand Mountain) & are scheduled to play tomorrow at 11. #20 had a grand slam (& is playing sick). By the way, they are selling daily passes ($6)

It's not raining in Chattanooga at 2:30. But I agree an website would be nice....

Supposed to have word by Noon today as to the tourney status and weather. Let me flog the dead horse once more.....a website would be great for this....whoever runs this has put together a decent spreadsheet, websites aren't much harder to do.

The money is the point! Same thing happend last year, we get there its raining then it stops long enough to get 3 innings in so they charge us entrance and parking UP FRONT for the whole weekend and it rains all day saturday and they finally cancel at around 2 oclock on sat. afternoon

What going with this tournament director? I continue to see on the weather channel that it's going to rain and I know teams are pulling out of this tournament, but he won't cancel the tournament. Most the teams from Ga have to travel about 1-2 hours to Tenn. or the other teams from the other states and Border Wars director will not post a proper website with information. Also, he know if teams play on Friday they won't play Saturday due to the weather, so what's the point.

We have always said, Sign up for the Spring Frost, Slugfest, and Border Wars just so you can maybe get one tournament in. You never know which one it will be (last year it was Spring Frost, this year it was Slugfest, next year, who knows).

Weather for the Super NIT next weekend is looking pretty good, though. Upper 60's and sunny.

Eventually it will be sunny every weekend (and hot).

No tournament website ???? That's crazy !!
bambino_dad Posted - 03/12/2009 : 11:52:07
Yep. Lots of rain on the horizon. As of noon Thursday, the forecast for the three-days of baseball is Fri. 50%, Sat. 90%, Sun. 70%.

Save your hotel money.
DoubleD Posted - 03/12/2009 : 08:07:15
To the best of my knowledge no tournament website exists.
If anyone receives the 12U tournament schedule please post here.

Sadly, it looks like this snakebit tournament will again be a rain event instead of a baseball event.

Can anyone send me the link to the Border Wars tournament? Thanks. Bob
Critical Mass Posted - 03/06/2009 : 12:34:49
I think Border Wars folks view tournament web sites w/updates like the Amish view combustion engines....

AMEN and hotel fees.
betterbball Posted - 03/03/2009 : 22:41:09
We were there and yes the full gate fee was taken the first mud-boggin game and then it was, tournament over and no money back.
baseballpapa Posted - 03/03/2009 : 21:59:19
Did Border Wars move into the new age of technology and create a web site.
