We played some good ball and had a great time. Our best game would have to have been against the Grip. We really hit good in that game. Our worst game was against the TPSA Bandits, we got three hits and gave up five homeruns. Our tightest game was against Kennessaw we went seven innings with those guys. If I may, my son pitched that game, six innings fortysix pitches total. He struck out seven and allowed only two runs. The Bandits once again gave us a great game and hats off to those guys. All in all it was a success we didn't win but we grew as a team. By the way I'm still having nightmares about that 185ft fence

bmoser: Thanks for the kind words . My son has played for the Bombers since the fall of 2005 and I've never seen head coach Yeager have words with anyone. He believes in the fundamentals and to be honest with you his practice has almost stayed the same the whole time. He plays with his players and maybe a pickup pitcher for a major tournament but thats all. He also possess another great characteristic, loyalty. My son has moonlighted for soom other teams in the fall and he's never been real happy about it, Coach Yeager has always been loyal to the team and he feels like the players should be to. TEAM Together Everyone Achieves More . You know come to think of it I don't think a single kid from the Atlanta S-NIT signed a pro contract so we'll just have to keep working hard.

I love how the Bandits and Bombers chose their players/families so well early on, then developed them. Sure there's been some turnover, but not nearly as much as we see in Atlanta.

I also notice how much these 2 coaches leave the boys alone to play the game once it starts. These Coaches treat the umps with respect. No arms flailing or shouting. Great role models. My sons Coaches are very similar.

1st thing folks say when they see the Bandits is..."they're so small", 2nd thing they say is "they're so good" 3rd thing they say is "how'd they get that good? I'd love to see them practice, that's where it all happens. I'd also like to learn how these Coaches made their initial selections. I think the Bandits Coach may have found the fastest runners, then taught them how to play baseball.

These are my favorite two 10u teams, and the Statewide recruiting assemblages dont impress me. Sorry Mizuno Glory, no disrespect meant, I just prefer developing players more than recruiting players.
I'm a non-Coaching parent which might explain my point of view.

I cant wait to see the Deland Florida 10U team who is made up of local boys who recently beat Mizuno.

10BB: I think that you and I feel much the same way. It sounds like you enjoy where you are and that your son is having a lot of fun. I also love the challenge of playing such a team as Mizuno or the Stars. Most of the times we are expected or favored to win but when we play these teams we become the underdog and I think it gives us incentive to step it up a notch or to play a little harder and this is a very good thing for the boys. I don't really care where the other team comes from as long as they play the same rules as everyone else. I don't think that hand picked team says much for the Coach. It wasn't me that said it but someone on the post said that a CHIMP could coach this type team and that is not far from being wrong. I can't imagine where the challenge for Coach is if all the players are brought to you ready to play. What did you build or where did you help.

PaPa I don't mind so much these teams doing this ,the boys are still only ten and we have the option of picking our on team. I feel good with our team and on any day a major team can win or lose.I think the Bombers and the Bandits can beat the Stars (Ca.) or the Glory its just about the way the ball bounces but you know all this. The Glory will be at Cooperstown and they can take whoever they want to there. They're not bound by USSSA rules or having a frozen roster.

10BB: The Bandits also enjoyed playing you and you are so right about the 185' fences. That is what we played 8 year old ball on. Worked for us against the Bombers and killed us against Mizuno. On a bigger field I think the Mizuno game might have been better. What is the Florida teams take on Mizuno and their borrowed players as travel ball select puts it. We noted multi state players listed on their rosters but of course this was our first time to see them and do not know if the out of state players were in Atlanta. I don't know if you saw them but they had assembled a awesome team and although we managed to get ahead late we could not hold on against the onslaught. We hope to see you again soon as it is a pleasure to share the same field with a team that is put together and coached much like our own.
