I want to put this post up to dispell any rumors that might be circulating regarding our team.

Let me say this very clearly first: THE GA GRIP 10U TEAM HAS NOT BROKEN UP

We HAVE disolved our USSSA roster though. At this point, we have no intention of playing any more USSSA tournaments for the remainder of the year. It has been very difficult to find Major 10u tournaments in our area. There are plenty of AA and AAA but very few Major. We are playing in Triple Crown, Grand Slam, Nations, USTBA and some others. Our end of season tournament is a Grand Slam world series in Panama City, FL.

The reason we disolved the USSSA roster is to that our players would be able to participate with other teams in USSSA events on our off weekends if they choose to.

Two of our players have been invited to join the Bandits on their trip to Cooperstown and have gladly accepted. We consider it an honor to be invited and a greater honor to play with them. It an opportunity of a lifetime and wouldn't discourage any of our players from participating.

Our next tournament is this weekend at ATPP in the Triple Crown tourney that is currently 34 teams strong and loaded with top Major teams. It should be a lot of fun.

We would greatly appreciate anyone sharing the facts about our team but please refrain from spreading rumors that are untrue. Our team has devoted a lot of time and energy to get to the point that we are today. It appears to be enjoyable for some to spread rumors and gossip about others but in this case it is only going to cause harm to 9 and 10 year old boys.

Thank you,

JC-GA Grip

Papa could sell a bag of ice to an Eskimo but I don't have to market the Bandits as they do all the work themselves. I just have to make sure that I tell the truth about what they have done. One thing that makes the Bandits tick is Georgia Baseball. We have always known that if we let up for one short minute that there are many teams that could take away all that we have worked so hard to achieve. We appreciate all the compliments and criticisms but we know what got us where we are and will keep working hard to stay on the top of our game.

What a compliment to the Bandits this is. There is hardly a post on this website regarding 10u travel ball that doesn't somehow end up talking about the Bandits. Papa, are you a marketing person by chance ??? (lol)

The Bandits are now down to 8 active players. We are in the free agency market and if you know of a stud looking for a place to play Call 1-800-HELP-PAPA.

Papa,
The Bandits with only 8 kids can still dominate most of the 10U teams around. Do us all a favor and pick up a slow non hitting outfielder instead of another big lefty who throws gas!

Should be a great tournament. I am dropping my team and picking up 11 hired guns so watch out. j/k

Besides what is posted on the GS website, I'm not aware of anyone else. Actually, I was surprised to find out that we are not listed yet. I'm familiar with Kennesaw, Chili Dogs Black, Gamers Red and Redbirds. All of them are very good teams and should make for a challenging tournament.

Did I understand that the Bandits have two injured players or just one. I hate to hear that anyone is out for injury. Will they be back soon, or is it more serious?

The Bandits have an injured player - posted in this thread.

Stallion: Nothing has changed. The Bandits are not even remotely doing what the Glory does. We announced at the beginning of the year that we would have to pick up two players to play with us in Cooperstown due to the format of so many games in such a short period of time and our limited roster that is now down to 9 players and if we did not get cancelled by rain would have been forced to play the championship bracket of the Alabama Super NIT with 8 players due to injury. You check our roster in every tournament we have played this year and you will see the same names every time, yes every time, not some of the time but every time. Not one player other our original roster has played one game with us thus far this year.

We were concerned with Mizuno's roster at the time but after Mizuno explained the real deal we have no problem with their team. You have to remember that right after the tournament the rumor was that Mizuno had kids from California and Pennsylvania which turned out not to be true.

Cooperstown is a unique tournament and I dare say that every team that has a smaller roster will have to add players just to get through this format with so many games in such a short period of time.

Go Grip! One of the best things to come out of Gwinnett County youth baseball since Francoeur and McCann. These families broke the mold, and had the guts to do something that just isnt done too much around here.

As I've been saying all along, Gwinnett has some of the best players in Georgia, its just really hard to get them onto the same field at the same time within the County system. The Grip are doing a nice job of it, and maybe now others will become more adventurous.

For all you naysayers who said 9 and 10 year olds cant throw 67 mph accurately, and hit the ball 300 feet, now you should know better.

The Grip have aggregated some of the best, and there's even more where they came from. I hope the Grip will grow their roster and some of the others will join them since the trail has been blazed. AP,AJ,RY,SC,SC, c'mon guys, show them how you play ball in Gwinnett!

If and when they do, the Grip will take the National stage. Knowing what I know, Mizuno Glory beware. When it all comes together, there will be a new Sherriff in town.

I'm so proud of all the Grip families. GO GRIP!
