Dunwoody Sr. Baseball Announces its Summer League Plans

Here are the plans for the league:

• Field Location. Dunwoody Senior has 2 fields, with lights that are each 310+ foot fields.

• Schedule. Games will be on fixed nights each week, Wednesday and Sundays to allow for ease in scheduling on our part and players to plan their work and/or summer school schedules. Season will be 9 games over 5 weeks and a single elimination playoff.

• Eligibility. Players who graduated from high school from 2003-2009 as well as rising seniors in high school are eligible to play in the league.

• Rules. We will use wooden/composite wooden bats. These will be provided by the park. Participants can use their own wooden bats at their risk in case of breakage. High school rules will be used with some modifications.

• Behavior. All teams will be expected to deport themselves appropriately for a baseball game. There will be absolutely no drinking, alcohol, smoking or any illegal substances permitted by any participant at the park.

• Fees/Uniforms. We will charge $1500/per team (Note: for 12 players this is $125/player). This will include liability insurance, lights, umpires, field preparation, balls, wooden bats, helmets, etc. The league will include provide shirts, hats, and socks for each team (up to 14 players/team)).

• Dates:
Date Activity
Fri, June 5 Deadline for email Expression of Interest
Fri, June 12 Team Registration Deadline
Sun, Jun 14 Coaches Meeting, DSB Field House, Fees Due
Sun Jun 21 - Sun Jul 19 Regular Season. We know that July 4th is an issue. This year it is on Wed. We will decide what do about it at the coaches meeting.
Mon Jul 21 - Sun Jul 26 Playoffs. T-shirts awarded to the top 2 teams.

• Registration. Teams may download a team registration form and e-mail their completed form in to jjcraw@mindspring.com. We will accept individual registrations but only to make players available to teams that need players. If we get enough individual registrations, we will try to form a team out of those kids. Players who become part of such a team, will pay that team and their money will be included in the team fee. Players may also sign up to be on the call-up list, which does not cost anything but you are not guaranteed of playing any games.

• Expression of Interest. Anyone who is contemplating organizing a team, should e-mail us at jjcraw@mindspring.com or call John Crawford or Pat Sadler at one of the numbers listed below.

• Questions. If you have any questions, please call:
