Is it just me or is it a complete waste of time to have a consolation bracket? USSSA State and WS advertised a double elimination format only to offer single elimination with consolation games. Why wouldnt they have a true double elimimation if they were going to have almost the same amount of games anyway? We've all been part of teams that lost in bracket only to work their way back and win the Ship. The other piece is that some teams don't even show for the consolation games which is bad for the kids that actually do show up to play them.
