I know that many families split the parental duties up to where the dad goes with the boys and the mom goes with the girls. Those families are truly short changing themselves.
I'm just sayin'... |

Posted - 12/19/2010 : 23:10:34 It would kill me to miss games. My huband was in Iraq for 3 years. While there, I would have to take 3 boys to their events. 2 in competitive baseball. It was great when the oldest started driving but I still hated missing anything, even practices! I want to be there! When parents can't be there they are calling me or barsred for the play by play, or we call each other! I think maybe the reason some moms don't enjoy the game is because they don't really understand it or the rules!

Posted - 12/15/2010 : 15:32:34 The divorce thing is definitely hard and also those who have multiple kids going in multiple directions. There are parents of players on our team in both of those situations.
You are right about enjoying every minute of it. It goes by too fast. |

Posted - 12/14/2010 : 23:11:53 R, or you have divorced parents and the dad is the only one involved in the sports for the kids. I often think what would happen if I wasn't around to take the kids to practice, to instructors, to work out together, to purchase there equipment?
She does come to some tournaments though.
This coming season will be interesting because both my son and daughter are on travel teams with very active schedules. So mom will have to step up and help a lot more.
I know the kids will really like having her a little more involved.. This part of there life only happens once and I know I'm going to enjoy every second of it with them! |
