Hey Mom's, need some advice. I don't understand what happened...my son has played baseball Fall/Spring/Summer for 8 seasons running. To give him a bit of a challenge we moved up from 8's to 9's....he still did really well, batting third, playing 1st, 3rd and pitcher, great attitude and poof...he wasn't chosen for ALL-STARS.
He was invited on 3 travel teams in the Fall but I didn't want to do travel ball during the school year. Now what? My kid lives and breathes baseball; our whole summer is geared around it. What do we do now? Does anyone have any ideas, I am REALLY hoping to have an alternative for him..another team, SOMETHING. We are in the Woodstock area, Cherokee and Cobb County.

Thank you for your kind words, this weekend he was asked onto 2 other teams. I guess we just thought all stars was about what you did, not who you know. Thank you! |

Don't be too disappointed, if he is good enough someone will let him play. All Stars is very seldom about the best players. More about getting the dad coaches names in the paper, or making sure their kids and friends are on the team.
Dont Know your area but most All Star teams are the equivalent of a mid AA travel team. There are exceptions of course.
