This is for the 13u players out there in 9th grade and trying to make their high school team? My son has a weird b-day meaning he will enter the 9th grade at age 13, meaning his birthday would put him playing 13u.

I have been told that 13u teams just don't play on the 60/90 fields and in order for my son to have a greater advantage in making the HS team I should play him up to 14u next year (he is in 7th now) so that he has experience on the 60/90 field and is playing with his grade.

Anyone have a story to share about being 13/14 and in 9th grade? How did it work out for you? Did your 13u coach play some on the 60/90 fields? Did you find it hard to transition to the "big field" for High School after not playing 14u prior to high school?
