I tagged the end of the "How to wash White Pants with Piping" thread, but its an old thread(2011) and I thought maybe most folks have settled in What chemical they are cleaning pants with. That is why I started another thread to give it a new/updated look on the same subject.
There is a Much simpler and more cost effective way to clean your pants than any of the chemicals used or mentioned in the thread. No soap needed, but a little pre-treat never hurts; any soap doesn't matter, I just spray some "Purple stuff" on them to give some bubbles.

Try using a Pressure washer. We started pressure washing our sons piped pants over the last few months or so and cannot believe we never thought of this before.

I will Just lay a towel down on the driveway, Pants on top of that. Put one foot on one end and start spraying. Flip over and repeat......Watch in amazement as the dirt comes right off!

My wife has used pretty much all the methods described in the other thread and Easily, this is not only the fastest, easiest and least expensive way to do it, it clearly will work better than any chemical you can use.

I got a 2500PSI gas powered pressure washer for multi-use around the house for Christmas last year and it works perfect! Dont bother getting anything with less than 2500PSI or you may as well just use the hose......I bet many of you already have a pressure washer in your garage right now.

My wife loves to do this and wears her Rain Boots when doing it...DONT Spray your toes with the pressure washer!

Anyone else already doing this? I think she got this idea on facebook or something like that.......sure glad she did

My son and I get on the parking deck. I spray water and then Purple Power on the pants, have him stand/hold one leg and pull it taut, and I put my knee on the other end. I use a stiff brush (and sometimes some powdered Iron Out) and am done before I could get my PW hooked up (which is in the garage about 15' away).

Does it stink up the house? LOL.

I've gotten brave or stupid (mostly lazy though) lately and just throw the pants and iron out in the washer - no soaking then moving over. Longest soak cycle on HOT and voila. Quick and easy. It's probably killing my washer though.

The issue I had a few weeks ago was in a hotel - those coin operated washers are horrible even after a pre-soak in the hotel bathtub. Pants looked gross, but now are pristine again. Love my Iron Out.

Great tip. For those of you without a pressure washer, many do this at the coin op self car wash bay. Most have clips on the wall where you can hang your pants and then go to town with the spray wand.
