How are teams and or leagues ranked? Are there only tournament wins or do season head to head victories count? Basically, is there any way to compare all of these teams by some sort of ranking and who does the ranking?

What is so complicated? TC giving 1/2 the teams a 3rd game. The fall is about playing additional games if possible not championships imo. So your complaining about a tourney director playing more games?

Diamond, Platinum, Titanium, Gold, Emerald, Silver and Bronze.

All these sub brackets are making things dizzy. There should be 1 winner and 1 runner-up. No way it can be that complicated for a 1 day event. It's fall ball. Play 2 games. Play defense and win or go home. Teams ranked 3-14 get a bracket play??? Might mess up my rankings of hot moms.

How do we know what "level" atl baseball is referring to? Means a lot if you are 16-18, means nothing under 14. Atl what age are you asking about? I still defer to Perfect Game..thats where it's at.

Rankings can help when pools are being set up by the tournament director, rarely do you see top teams playing each other in pool.

Agreed. They mean absolutely nothing at this level.

Just a bunch of dads and coaches giving their opinions. Look up the results per team on the Triple Crown web site, the rest is just words.

Oh man. Just looked at this. What a mess. So there is no real way to judge baseball team performance in all of these different leagues?

What are you calling a "LEAGUE"?

If you look at the rankings for the respective age groups in PG, TC, and TBS, you will generally see the same teams listed in their national rankings. Unlike USSSA, the rank teams on performance and not how many of their tournaments you play in. They actually reference how a team did in the other organizations' tournaments in their ranking justifications.

TravelBall Select as well as Triple Crown have rankings for 14U and below. They both also give the criteria utilized in compiling the team rankings. Several local teams were ranked in the Top 10 of both respective organizations.

I only know of two baseball bodies that do official rankings for teams, I don't know what you mean by League.

1. USSSA, this is mostly for 12u and under. It is based on points, you get points by competing and how well you did in each tourney.

2. PG, this is mostly for 12u and older". It can be subjective but they don't share their system of grading. It typically says something under the team name like "Won the WWBA, finals in BCS" so as to justify the ranking, but no they don't take into account head to head.

I'm pretty sure Perfect Game's national team rankings are not done by a bunch of dads, but rather by participation in, and performance at, a number of key events, including wins and placements in those same events. As for individual players, they compile a combination of their observations, scouting reports, reports from coaches and other scouts, etc to come up with their ranking. TC and USSSA also rank but honestly imo PG is where all the scouts are so would thus have the most accurate compilation and is where the scouts go for info. For teams/players under 14 to 15, it's meaningless and just for fun. Go to Perfect Game's website and look at the rankings, individual, team and high school. For teams they will list the key wins and placements of the top ranked teams that contributed to their placement.
