Has anyone else noticed that the 5150 just sounds weird? Is that sound going to go away? Instead of the BBCOR thud that most bats make, the sound of a ball hitting the bat is PING! At the indoor cages it is deafening!

Anyone else having this problem?

Velo makes same sound... If your son has Fast hands the Velo is an amazing bat we have been using the same bat for two seasons now and it is constantly getting hotter....

He is very happy with the performance of the bat. As of right now I haven't seen much of a change in where he hits the ball compared with his drop 10 bat.

I would prefer he swing his game bat in the cages because every bat is just a little different...I think changing bats would mess with his swing.

LOL, I wonder how many umps are going to ask to verify that the bat is BBCOR based on that PING!

Is it a problem? or just a little annoying
I have read some reviews(a lot actually) and the bat your son got is up there as one of the top bats available at any price. I would say that it's not a bad idea to do indoor batting practice with lumber, versus aluminuminum That way the sound of the bat can be saved for cage warmups before tourneys and your kid puts the FEAR into the other team with every PING!.......I would enjoy the sound as sweet music

He is the only one on the team with a PING type bat...last indoor practice the coach asked if he could FIND a louder bat? My son of course said "Not sure coach but I will try!", the coach switched him over to wood just to get a break from the sound, lol!

Get used to the PING because Velo & 5150 were everywhere this year in 14U . My son swings a 5150 and rakes with it. Great bat

My son did the hittrax thing at better baseball and this was the #2 bat according to the machines data. The first was a Velo, but with the $100 price difference and the data being pretty darn close we went with the 5150. He does swing it well, but dang it is LOUD!

The 2015 was the same... One of the hottest BBCOR bats! IMO

Rawlings Velo is the same. Just the sound Rawlings one piece aluminum bats make.
