Looking for a little guidance here. What in our opinion are the Top 5 best tournaments/ showcases for 14/15u. Primarily PG but curious to see if there are other good quality events out there also. Trying to weed thru the mountain of noise and find the legit events.

Agree, certainly not cheap.
A lot of kids could raise their stock by going, cannot go because of price.
While I believe that PG is the cream of the crop, PBR also has local showcases and would be a cheaper alternative.
The 2 showcases that PG puts on that I highly recommend is the Junior National and the National. Generally, you have to be invited and if you are they are great experiences; especially, the National. |

While these are certainly impressive I wouldn't say don't showcase unless you have one of these at 14/15. I'd say the catcher pop is really high. |

I would add there is another possible benefit to showcasing at an early age and that is performing under the pressure of knowing everything you are doing is being scrutinized. Some can handle it and others have to learn how to. |

My list was for the parent of a 14 year old to say "Does my kid do any of that?" (not ALL of that) If so, take him to a showcase. If not, save your $650 until he is.
There seems to be a perpetual myth that a baseball player MUST do a showcase in order to get a scholarship. That is NOOOOOOOOT true! Only showcase if you have something to show. The last thing you want is to go and showcase your 14 year old and he gets a grade of a 6.5 or 7. Then you have to go to another one in 2-3 years to get a higher grade to show what he's doing now.
Save your money! Even if you are a junior or a senior, it's better to email colleges than go to a showcase if you aren't putting up outstanding numbers.
College camp = $100
PG showcase = $650
You can add video to the showcase, no idea how much that costs extra, but you could also make your own video.
Unless you are showing off some very impressive talent I see no point of showcasing, other than if you feel you just have too much money. |

We are talking needing current MLB numbers at 14 or don't bother? Wow, impressive. I know of about 5 kids at 14 in the area with those overall sort of numbers. Maybe ONE of them, like pitching in the mid 80's at the best, but not being able to also run that sub 6.9 etc. |

Yeah you are talking about H.F. I wonder sometimes about these certain times that PG posts. There was another kid you know D.B. supposedly put up a 1.44 ten yards split in the latest showcase at PG. The fastest in the MLB is 1.41 or 1.40. It makes you wonder.

pop time: sub 1.9
Throwdown: 85+
Fastball: 88+
Outfield: 88+
Infield: 88+
Exit velo: 90+
Those numbers you listed are definitely upper echelon even for seniors. |

It all depends on the age.
Your numbers would represent the upper echelon type players and they would put you into the 90 percentile for any class.
Your catcher throw down is extremely high, that is an elite catcher arm and not many of those around. |

If your son can put up impressive numbers, then I would recommend a PG showcase. You will hear people say that the rankings mean nothing, but look at any college roster and look at a players info, it will mention something about PG in the players bio almost every time.
With that said, if you can't impress in at least one area that they grade you on, then it probably would be a money grab. |

PG WWBA....but that's about it. Yes you could do the BCS in FT. Myers, and the TN one...but really there aren't any must do tourneys for 14/15u |
