Effective January 1, 2021, the following bats may not be used in Perfect Game events:

-2015 Demarini CF7 (-5)
-2015 Easton XL1 (-5)
-2016 Demarini CF8 (-5)
-2016 Demarini CF8 (-8)
-2016 Demarini CF8 (-10)
-2017 Demarini CF Zen Balanced (-8)
-2017 Demarini CF Zen SL 2 3/4" (-10)
-2017 Demarini CF Zen Zero Dark 2 3/4" (-10)
-2017 Demarini CF Zen (-5)
-Louisville Slugger Blue Meta Composite (33/30 model only)
-(Dirty South) Kamo BB KA 8 (30/22, 31/21, 32/22, 31/23, 32/24 only)
-(Easton) Ghost X (30/20 only - USA Baseball Marked)

Re-tooled models of these bats may be used in Perfect Game play. Once returned from the manufacturer, these bats will have updated model numbers and new orange end cap and stickers indicating the corrected performance standards.

Truly no one should be caught off guard by this ban of the best performing bats that have ever existed. The surprising thing is that they went back and banned bats from 2015 which has to be a pretty limited number of bats left in working order. Sure are a lot of Demarini bats listed which explains why all of the high level teams seem to swing that brand exclusively.

Not sure why after all these years these same bats continue to be an issue. Going all the way back to 10 and 11U, and my son is now 16U. Frankly still not sure why we don't all hit with wood. Even in HS you are still required to hit with the dreaded overpriced metal bat. Yet all PG events at the HS level are wood only. My boy has consistently hit much BETTER with wood over metal, and he's only an average size kid. But yeah he could crank it with the zen back in the day. The move to wood is the great leveler of players.

It's about time.

Now we'll see who can really call themselves "elite". If these coaches and parents are so upset by them losing their $1000 bats, maybe they shouldn't call themselves a high level team because they can't win without them.

There are plenty of other bats out there that perform nearly as well.
