First...anyone know the specifics on why Showcase Baseball was disqualified from the tourney after beating the Naturals from Gray 11-2 in the finals? Speculation was they fielded players not on their USSSA roster as well as fielded a number players that were previously on major rosters.

Second...I thought the tournament USSSA put on left a lot to be desired. If you are going to charge families $10 per person per day and charge teams several hundred dollars to play the least you can do is to make sure you have volunteers or even paid people to run the scoreboards for each game. Out of 4 games we only had one game with an accurate scoreboard. On Saturday, along with not having operating scoreboards the umpire behind the plate for both our pool games would barely indicate ball/strike, rarely gave the count, and gave attitude when asked to clean the plate. Today, umpires were answering cell phone calls during game play and because children were attempting to operate the scoreboard the umpires became confused with multiple counts during our second bracket game. The one positive is West Walton Park is one of the better venues we’ve played....very well maintained and prepped playing surfaces for 10 year old baseball.
