East Cobb ANGELS Baseball is looking for top players

Who are we?

East Cobb Angels is a "NEW" team at East Cobb and we own a Cooperstown Dreams Park Certificate. The program has a past history under the EC Pride name, Coach Moreno stepped out of the youth level at ECB last season to coach his son's 11U team and is now coming back to the youth level at ECB for his fourth circuit at 12U. Victor Moreno has a proven track record of developing baseball players in the area since 2003. We changed the name to Angels for the simple fact that who wouldn't want a pro name.

Who is the coach(s)?
Coach Moreno is all about the development of baseball players and has been at ECB for over a decade and is a professional at running travel ball teams. He helps players develop and currently Coach Moreno is head coach of the East Cobb Angels 16U team. Our program is based upon hard work, quality practices and getting players the reps they need to raise their level. In the travel ball world we do not promise winning every tournament, what we do provide is quality competition and personal challenge that is geared toward helping players grow their game, instilling the life lessons that the game provides and TEACHING PLAYERS THE GAME OF BASEBALL.

Besides a long track record of developing players and helping them achieve HS Varsity and the collegiate level, coach Moreno is a current private instructor, former collegiate player, collegiate and HS coach. We will not filter our teams with new players week to week, and we focus on building up our player's foundations.

We will also utilize a paid assistant, and committed parent help to better structure practices once the team is solidified.

What are we looking for
A Cooperstown year is a year of commitment and a experience many players and families want. It requires lots of pitching, solid defense and players with a motor. Since we have several open positions this can be a quality experience for all involved and you will not have to worry about "IF" there is a certificate involved.

90% of the team will be required to pitch. (we will have a pitching coach) but urge you to seek out extra instruction whether it be us or your own private instructor to learn to master the craft. (same for hitters and defenders).
2- Catchers will rotate full games (you will be expected to take catching instruction since the position is so valuable).

There are a minimum of 6 - 8 positions available as of now.

Expectations
Our goal is to play a AAA/ Major schedule. This allows players to compete with top teams and develop while also focusing on their skills in tournaments like triple crown opens for example which allow for a maximum of games and some playing up will occur. We cannot guarantee wins but we will find the players required and train properly and generate the right mindset to be competitive and we expect to play our full roster of players (I believe that if your coach picked 12 they should play them, since they selected them) but I want all to understand that we expect all players who join to earn their playing time and serve their given roles and build that role into a bigger role each day, their "chances" are won in practices and over time in game play. This means we expect players to practice at home and on their own away from team time to achieve max potential as nothing is given or should be taken for granted.
-We will have a transparent budget on dropbox if you are offered a position.
- We communicate with our families. We know you expect feedback on your child's progress and development and we will give it to you...the positive and the negative, yet we do not invite long debate. We expect our parents to be adults and to let the kids play, learn to own their success and failures and be objective of their child's play. Players grow faster when they learn to own the game themselves.

Format-

We will play a fall schedule and practice in the fall beginning September (2 days per week).
We will expect players to commit to speed/ strength training.
We like two sport athletes but expect you to commit fully when your season is over without debate.
We will practice in the winter.
We will practice 2-3 times per week in early spring and thru spring/ summer a combination of field and outdoor.

If you are interested in this experience where your child can make their own way, learn the game, play quality competition and go to Cooperstown please email.

ECANGELS16U@GMAIL.COM we will be setting up small group workouts and our early tryout date will be confirmed in the next 48 hrs and we will update our post.

Respectfully,

Victor Moreno
