Good Morning!
I just posted some info on the Camps and Clinics page about Cal and Bill Ripken hosting a coaching clinic in the Atlanta area on February 12th.
One of the main reasons we are wanting to do that event is because of the great feedback that we have been receiving from coaches and parents that have attended our tournaments in Myrtle Beach, SC over the past few years.
I wanted to give everyone a quick rundown of the Ripken Experience and how it works...if you have more questions, I would be more than happy to answer but at the same time I would ask you to contact coaches that have attended recently and get their feedback.

The Ripken Experience is an 8 field complex located in Myrtle Beach. Five of our fields are youth fields and three of them are 60/90 fields. All fields are Field Turf and are great to play on for the kids...yes Metal Spikes can be worn at the older age groups.
We host weekend tourneys in the Spring and Fall but the main thing we do is host high quality week-long tourneys from the Middle of June thru the Middle of August. Ages range from 9u thru 16u.
We are presently sitting at 10 sell outs for 2011.
Teams come in from all over the Eastern half of the United States and now going into our Sixth season we are starting to see teams West of the Mississippi as well as a sprinkling of International teams.
We run completely unsanctioned, open tournaments.
Check in day is Sunday with opening ceremonies and competitions...and we have an opening day party for the kids and families.
You get Five pool play games, Monday thru Wednesday and then Tourney play starts on Thursday with Championship games on Friday around Lunch.
We run our lodging a little different than most tournaments. You can go with our Accomodations, Condos at Myrtlewood Villas one mile away...The coaches and kids can stay there or we can figure out a plan to get your entire group to stay there.
Or you can go with the Non Accomodations package and everyone can stay off-site. This is your family vacation to go along with this tournament and we want you to enjoy it the way you want to.
Each coach and player gets a Ripken Duffle bag when they check in, filled with Ripken gear and other items.
Each coach and player also receive week-long passes to water parks, go kart tracks and mini golf.
The coaches also receive Ripken Under Armour Batting jackets and we are working on some golf discounts.
I have been to Cooperstown twice with my son. I went to the Ripken Experience once with him...and looking back, my families on the travel teams I ran asked why we did not go to Ripken more than just the once!
If you need anything at all, please call, email or text me and I will make sure we answer your questions and help you plan a great trip!
PS...we started more opportunities for 9u and 10u teams in 2011...if you know any teams that age that are looking for a place to play...send them my way.
Thank you,
Joe Mulinaro
