Thanks BravesFan.... A friend recently told me about this site and I was shocked at some of the pointed statements.... This is a childs game that can easily be ruined by over-zealous parents.... I enjoy watching all these young men compete.... Yes, I want my son's team to win but I cheer for every good play and hit I see during the day....

ecbpappi, I think Splains had the hometown/field thing going on. I don't think they were going to take down the horns. Maybe some wishful thinking. Bet things were pretty loud around there. Hard for some of the kids to focus. Horns had to use the least amount of energy in this one or they would have had nothing left for the real game which was coming up next.

bb4life, this site is only what you make of it. If you take it to seriously you will be offended and if you take it to lightly you will miss out on a lot of great information from other members. Welcome and good luck!

BravesFan, I am guilty of some smack talk I'll try to tone it down.

Bones isn't listed to play in either the Triple Crown tournaments the next two weeks or the Super NIT. I think for any team to claim they will be top ten, they need to go out and play against the top teams in their class and then see how their record is. I don't think many have seen this Bones team, where are they playing the next few weeks?

As someone close to the Bones program, we have no idea what we have. What I do know is that we have a fantastic group of kids and families who love this game of baseball. Waaaaay too early to talk about any predictions. I think we are the recipients of some success our 12u team had this past weekend. The 11u Bones team will be in Lagrange next weekend and Dalton the following weekend.

I haven't been on the board in a while but I'm glad to see that things have cooled down. I hope everyone stops all of the smack talk and pounding of the chest...Who is better than who....Who has the best players. It's childish to come on-line and congratulate your team for winning a tournament because it's not like you are congratulating the KIDS who actually played in the event. You are congratulating yoursleves and other parents on your team, which is just crazy IMO. I would hope nobody would let these kids read this board as this age group has turned into the laughing stock of travel baseball because of all the crazy post. Our age group has posted more than the other age groups combined. I think the kids would be shocked to learn their dad is on a blog bragging about his little 11 year old baseball team.
If you go up and watch top 12's or 13's, you will see all of this non-sense ends very quickly. Let's just enjoy these kids while their young.

Let's get the board back to talking about which tournaments to play in, which bats are working, pitching coaches, kids looking for teams, rules, people looking for advice about things, coaches looking for advice on how to handle situations, etc.

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure this board wasn't created so parents could come on here and talk about how great their son's team is or the players on his team. It's not a productive conversation.

That is a good post. It might be different on the other side of the fence from the braves, a team that can just pick any kid they want at any time!

Mike great post. I agree let's talk about rules and situations that will help us all help our kids. Not who has the best player or who has the best team .

Let's talk about bats that have let you down after paying good money for them or bats that have been better than expected.

Coaches remember it is not about your winning record but whether all the kids got better not just your own.

Thank you Mike for a voice of reason. It still cracks me up to see how worked up folks can be at 11u. It doesn't matter. As I've said in all of my earlier posts, travel ball doesn't mean anything in the big scheme of things until your kid is playing 14u and older. If the goal is to play past high school, then it should be about facing better competition and developing your team to give them the best chance to fulfill their dreams once it really starts to matter. The fact that teams "Win" is great, but tell me who really cares 2 months after the season is over...... Nobody, we will all be too busy discussing the upcoming season on the 12u board.........:)

Bones, good for you guys. I saw that tournament in Dalton and you have several majors coming up to play so that will be a tough tournament.

ecbpapi, yes it should be a tough tourney and im sure the boys will battle but anything can happen.Sometimes you beat teams nobody thought you could and then teams beat you that you feel should never. And to answer your post on triple crown tourneys we are not to caught up in rankings so whatever happens happens. We are just great kids, great parents with hard working coaches that look forward to weekends of baseball.
