Looks like the Braves, Astros and 45's all cruised thru pool play today. Bracket games on Sunday should be interesting when they finally have to play each other. That sure was lucky that none of them had to play each other during pool play.
Anyone know why they would split only 6 teams into 2 brackets? 643 is in the championsip game of the "Select Division" that hasn't even won a single game in the tournament and the Astros can potentially win the "Ultimate Division" by only playing one game on Sunday. Seems like a team should get to play more than 3 games in a weekend if you're winning.
A strange tournament design, I'll agree. But in the end I think the teams in the Ultimate Division will get out of it what they need, and the Select Division will get the work in that they need. Not a bad way to start off the season.
Upon Further review, and talking to parties involved, baserunner appears correct. NEITHER team was getting much from 17-1 routs. Mid tourney adjustment, yes, but acceptable to all in the end.
