Saw the worst foul line ever in Hampton this weekend. Surely with all the money spent every year at SNIT some should go into making the fields the best they can. How much would it cost to move a foul pole? Portable mounds seemed small in Lovejoy..........
I thought it was odd to have ~350' outfield fences in a 12u AAA S-NIT, but it actually made it quite exciting watching the boys speed around the bases while the defense raced to get the ball in. I think if the boys got to vote, they'd say play huge fields all the time.
Our fields were in great condition, and they prepared the fields well for every game. The temp mounds were too small and a hole developed in front of the temp mound, but the hole was there for both teams, so deal with it. I was yelling out to my son to move to the edges of the rubber to avoid his landing foot from landing in the hole.
Yes I agree 100% the mounds where to small. The field barriers where set up at 300 feet. That seems a bit long for 11u baseball?? The last time I was at that park in Lovejoy it was for softball.
In gamers black and ec luck game 1st inning saw a ball land 1 foot from foul line and umpire called it fair, since right fielder couldn't make the catch on an obvious foul ball he slowed down and 2 runs scored.Did 643 make it to bracket play over gamers by 2 runs?OUCH THAT HURT!
