Parkview Panthers will hold its 2012 tryouts on Friday August 12th at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday August 14th at 1:00 p.m. Tryouts will be held at Mountain Park- Park, 5050 Five Forks Trickum Road, Lilburn, Georgia 30047 on Field 7.
We are a top level AAA team and a feeder program into Parkview High School. We are considered one of the elite/top travel programs in Gwinnett County competing consistently well at all levels. Last year, the rising 12U team won both the Greater Gwinnett Baseball League and Tournament in addition to winning or reaching the finals of three other tournaments in Georgia and Tennessee. Three other Parkview teams competing in the GGBL won their respective tournament or finished in the Final Four. The reason for our success is a relationship between the travel teams and Parkview High School Baseball program. Last year, travel teams worked closely with the varsity staff during a series of hitting and defensive clinics where teams learned the hitting and defensive techniques that contributed to making Parkview the State AAAAA high school baseball champions in 2011.
We are committed to player development. Practices emphasize skill development and we challenge our players to reach the highest potential possible. Hitting, pitching and fielding instruction is provided at every position and we focus on mechanics and fundamentals related to the game.
During the fall season we play a light schedule around family commitments and other sports – approximately 15 games. In the spring, we will play a 45-55 game competitive schedule including 18 games in our GGBL league and approximately 5-6 additional tournaments. We also plan to participate in a tournament at either Ripkin or Disney in 2012.

Gwinnett,
Sorry for the delayed response. I have been traveling since 7/19. Mountain Park Athletic Association Board requires all teams in the Parkview system to have open tryouts. We carry 11 players on the team and we take the 11 young men from tryouts who coaches feel will become the best players based on athleticism, ability to listen and be coached, team dynamics, and the attributes that demonstrate an ability to play the game well (speed, hand-eye coordination, glove skills, throwing accuracy and speed, pitching and bat skills). Since we only carry 11, as with any travel team, we are always looking kids who can play more than one position, thrives at being flexible and it is an added strength if they have experience pitching.
Thanks for the inquiry |
