We had a solid first tryout tonight. We will have "callbacks" for several players who came to initial tryout, as well as "open tryouts" for new players who wish to be considered.
This will take place on Sunday, August 7 at 2 p.m. at the varsity baseball field at Allatoona High School. Players must reside in the Allatoona district, with birth date ranging from May 1, 1999 through August 31, 2000.

Our tryout Sunday (tomorrow) will begin at 2 p.m. on the varsity field at Allatoona HS. Please arrive by 1:45 p.m. so the boys can get loose and stretch.
We will conduct a more thorough assessment of skills, but because we have fewer kids, we should still be able to wrap up around 3:30-3:45 p.m.
Please make sure you bring water or a sports drink for your kids. I will also bring a Gatorade cooler with lemon-lime Gatorade that all the kids and coaches on the field can drink from.
Obviously, with the extreme heat, we will be very careful with the kids. If you are uncomfortable with your son being on the field from 2:00-3:45 p.m., please do not bring him out to the field. The decision for your kids to participate is yours.
This past week, parts of Allatoona's infield were re-sodded. Therefore, most of our drills will be confined to the outfield on Sunday, including hitting. We will have kids pitch in the bullpen, rather than on the mound.
