anyone figure out how this is gonna work this year since they added the two classifications...last year everyone played in one classification...wonder if it will be hard for tourneys to make?

We are gonna play CP for the majority of the season. Feel at 8U they shouldnt even offer KP option. Way too young to be pitching in my opinion. They will have plenty of time to pitch. We wil work on it in practice on a limited basis and may play a few KP tournys at the end of the year if ready.

TODDS,

Agree, but mainly because there is still so much work to do teaching good defense and mechanics at 8U. If you get that right then the rest will come. The kids will need to see some kid pitch at the end of the year and work hard in the fall to be ready for 9U.

If your team is truly sound on the basics, then kid pitch is OK.

Besides CP is so much faster and more exciting for the kids at that age, let them enjoy it.

I do not think my sons team will follow my opinion, but I am not the coach and we will go along with the team.
