Was really looking forward to seeing the Hobgood Braves vs the Astros, but a pitching change ended my hopes.....maybe next time. |

I thought when I first looked at the schedule there was some time built in between last pool game and first bracket which is a good idea. Just looked at version 2 and that extra time vanished. This leads to situations like 4bagger describes above.
As previously stated, bet there are some upset 1-1 teams playing in the silver. Just don't like an even split. |

I guess all teams were supposed to hang around the fields waiting for the seeding to be written on the very confusing cardboard sheets leaning on the TD table. Awful job with updating the teams.
Silver 4 - you play Diamond Academy Legends @ 11 Sunday |

I noticed the EC Mudcats won their first bracket game today. On the website schedule it looks like they just disappeared so why didn't they get to play another game? It might just be another typo (one of MANY) but it would be nice to know why they didn't get to play another game. The schedule has been a mess the entire tournament and is very confusing. |

I thought the updates were pretty good. The gate fee was very reasonable and the umpires were pretty good (thought my kids strike zone was called tight...of course, lol)
Also liked the park...having nice fields, good grub and shaded seating. The only thing I would improve right away is the bathrooms, pretty darn nasty for such a nice complex. |

The weather cooperated which was a plus. Tournament was ran well but all tournaments have room for improvement. Dodgers gave the Astros a good game in the semis. A play here or there by the Dodgers and we are congratulating another team but that is baseball and the Astros have so many tools (a new one that can hit 250 foot bombs helps). Hope the pitcher for East Side is ok after taking a line drive off the leg in the championship. Gata 3rd base coach - you are a riot and I loved the energy you brought to the park. |

Congratulation on a well run tourney. We came to this toruney to support Jeff. He has a true love for the game and developing kids not just wins. I have not been to a tourney yet that gets brackets schedules out fast enough for everybody due to the obvious baseball operations. However, if you were 2-0 or 0-2 it was easy to figure out quick. The 10u teams were great they got after the 11u's. Good job for Eastside and of course Astros. But Astros almost didnt make it ran into a bump in the road. What I like is that what I saw all teams had respect for others. Set an example for the kids. Cant say that for one parents I saw. Chill momma please!! |

The tourney overall was a good one I agree. 11u Astros do have a lot of tools for sure. The Dodgers gave them a run and had a lead going into the 5th. The Stros started out a little flat it seemed.
Then the coaches had a little pep talk with the kids and well afterwards I heard it was the kind I used to get as a young player that made you perk up and take note. It was game on then and a huge team effort that put the Stros in the lead ending the game.
Would have loved to have seen the Hobgood Braves and Astros match up also. I think it would have been a good game to say the least. I to hope the pitcher from East Side is okay.
Anyone know how he's doing? |

I was watching the Stros and Dodgers game. The Stros could not hit the big right hander the Dodgers had on the hill. He controlled the whole game and had some excellent pick offs. He picked off two base runners. The Stros had a swinging bunt and a bloop infield popup that changed the game. The Stros have plenty of weapons thats for sure. It was a heck of a game. The Dodgers hit the ball very well too. That looked like the championship game. The Tourney was a pretty good one. |

Please dont take anything away from the kids of either team,, A swinging bunt(did not see) and a bloop infield popup did not win or loose the game. It was 6 innings of good baseball. Leave it at that... Come on..quote: Originally posted by coachescorner

Thanks to everyone that expressed concern over the East Side player that was hit while pitching during the Astros game. He is doing just fine. X-rays were negative and he will be back on the hill real soon. |

I agree it was a good game and nobody is trying to take anything away from the Astros. So sensitive. |

I was not saying you or anyone was taking anything away from the Astros. Not sensitive... don't need to be. All I was saying is that it was a complete 6 inning game. I don't think one or two plays made the difference. The Dodgers and Astros battled for 6 innings. Hats off to the Dodgers.......quote: Originally posted by throwitaround

My bad itsbaseball. I apologize. I must have not understood what you wrote asking that nobody should take anything away from either team. You are right, you have no reason to be sensitive. You have a very good team and with the new additions you are making, you will only be stronger. Good luck the rest of the way. |
