We sure have a lot of "Swamis" on this site. Okay, this may come back to bite me but who cares...I will make a prediction.

I pick the Texas Rangers. Josh Hamilton is off to a hot start and Yu Darvish looks like the real deal. :-) There you have it...lol!

SP Titans have looked solid so far this weekend. Copperheads battling every game with a close one with 643. Renegades over the Braves. WFDD struggling early. Bracket play could go to anyone based on who shows up. I expect to see some good match ups for Sunday.

If Game Changer is accurate, South Forsyth Giants beat Signature Park by a score of 16-6 in the championship after beating the Braves 8-7 and 6-4-3 11-8.

Incredible - What drama and what parity at 10u this year. Great BIG shout-outs to the SF Giants for stepping up and showing out. CONGRATULATIONS!

And just another very good, rock solid outing for the SPT. Looks like we can bet "good money" on SPT to be in the final 4 and final 2 weekly. Keep it rollin HS.

Great Job SF Giants!!! That's a well earned Tour Win.

Great weekend for Baseball and great job WF Diamond Dawgs Baseball on a great show. The kids really enjoyed their names being called when they stepped up to the plate.

Steel-Will,

Thanks, My Man...we will keep working.

For the second tournament in a row we didn't play well in the c'ship and that my fault - I have to figure out a way to get the guys to play better. But overall, a great tournament, well-coached teams...we enjoyed it. Kudos to Clayton, Chris and all the guys over at WF for putting on a great tournament.

We played the SF Giants twice early in the season and I thought that they were one of the better teams that we had faced all year. I told one of my friend that they were not a AAA team and after running through the Atlanta Super NIT they were bumped up tp majors. In fact, I ALMOST mentioned them as a team to watch out for when everyone was talking top ten last week. This team hits the ball well and is very athletic...super aggressive on the base paths. Shout out to SF...great job!!!

Does anyone have the break-down of the final scores of each game? I saw the SF Giants play in a tournament (AAA) and felt this team could play with any major team in Georgia and win. It was proven this weekend. Good job to the players, parents and coaches.

I'm not surprised the Giants won. They eliminated us from the first two tournaments of the year and can hit with any team we have seen. I thought there pitching was a little light to be able to win at the major level but I guess the bats made up for it. They hired a paid coach which appears to be money well spent. The Astros mowed every one down at the wood bat tournament in a style that wood make Javy proud.

I just wanted to say thank you to all who participated in the Boneyard Bash. Other than the 3 games at the high school, I watched every single game played over the 3 days and that was some of the best baseball I have ever seen, just look at the scores and you know they were awesome games. Not only does 10u have some amazing talent but they also have some of the best coaches. Everyone handles themselves with class...to the umps, to the other coaches and even more importantly to the other players. I watched a boy get robbed in center field and high five the kid who robbed him... I watched another boy in right field who was backing up a throw, slap a kids hand after successfully laying down a bunt and beating out the throw. He was clearly telling him that he had a nice bunt... That is how it should be! This was a very enjoyable tournament for us and I just wanted to say thank you again... Good luck to all the rest of the season

Pretty impressive run...but now it looks like the SF GIANTS were sandbagging a little by playing the SNIT at AAA?

I don't there is any thing wrong with them starting AAA, and feeling out where the team belongs in the mix. Though many of kids played together before, they have alot of new players, and are a new team. USSSA makes it alot easier to go up than down.

Congrats on a great tournament. Greg

So with the dust settled, the following list is based solely on how I have seen the teams perform this year:

1. EC Astros
2. SP Titans...believe I saw them featured on the ESPN ticker the other morning, but it was early and I was still trying to wake up, so not sure.
3. EC Braves - getting a much needed break this weekend is what I hear. Ranking is based on book of work so far.
4. Atlanta Blue Jays....when that team gets going and the fans are in it...a thing of beauty to watch the park rock!
5. Elite Gamers...see they are playing in the North Atlanta Open next weekend. Look out for this team.
5b. SF Giants...sandbagging or not, they are coming on at the right time.

643, WFDD, Copperheads, OTC, Mayhem and Renegades can slip into the mix on any given weekend.

The 10u in GA is a very strong group and all teams are very competitive and will be for a long time.

Hobnail.

I mine as well give mine:

1-EC Astros (best team week in week out, although they can be beat, Renegades/ Braves did it)
2-Signature Park-They are struggling to find a way to close out a tourney but with their p/ups will continue to be there week in week out.
3-EC Braves-Agree w/Hobnail, no ones body of work is better. I hear they are a bit banged up w/injuries, rest will probably do them good. Probably eyeing a big finish in the 2 biggest national tourneys @ the end of year.
4-Gamers RWB-Great team, interesting pick his weekend going the 11U route in a tough TC event. Nothing going on in 10s anyway local. Need to p/up a tourney win, like Signature.
5-Buzz-Have no clue what they are doing, but once again your crazy if you sleep on them. Very good team lying in the weeds I think they are targeting Auburn SNIT as a coming out this year.
6-Home Plate-mostly plays south side, including Auburn events. Great ATL SNIT, continues to chase E32 bid.
7-Atl BJays-Agree w/Hobnail, TONS of talent, Good luck in TN SNIT, personally know this team is ACHING to go to E32.
8-643-Good team, plays small ball well; always there as a pesky team
8-Rengades-Just too much talent on this team, can't figure them out; force last year, just not winning the same games this year.
10-Giants-Phenomenal weekend up north last weekend; yet to see them play, can't quite bump them all the way to #5. Interested to see this team proceed.

Honorable Mention:
Mayhem-Good team, but appears this is not the same team as in the Fall. Appears they have dropped out of Kingsport SNIT.
OTC-good p/up early in the season, again very pesky.
Atl Stars-It appears all this team will do is chase an E32 bid to the ends of the earth.
WFDD-This team is definitely not playing up to last years clip, there is no way anyone can argue /that.
Lake Lanier-Watch out when/if this team gets going; kind of the same story as WFDD.

Herb's Top Three...coming up with ten takes up too many brain cells.

1. Texas Rangers - I like the Darvish pickup and Hamilton can carry a team for weeks.
2. Cardinals - Defending champs and it looks like Freese is showing that the World Series was no fluke.
3. Yankees - Veteren team that knows how to win...enough said.

BB - I'm going to have to "balk" at your top 10 (pun intended).

I certainly can appreciate the direction you're going with the TT. However, I'm just a little queasy with your neglect of the "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY" criteria. Which again, I heavily weight.

Let's see what we have here -

The Astros get another tourny win in the fun, but not so competitive Javy Lopez Wood Bat event (if you get a chance, play this event, Javy does a great job and your boys and your wives will love him).

Signature Park gets to the final 2 again.

South Forsyth has competed well each week and now has a significant tourny win.

Gamers RWB (BTW - I really like the RWB name, especially considering those outlandish 4th of July themed uniforms) Dominated the GA/FL with a tourny win.

643 Cougs - Final 4 last week, Final 4 two weeks ago and Tourny champs 1 month ago.

EC Braves - SNIT Champs, 1 month ago, 3 other championships over 1 month ago

BUZZ - I'm sure they beat-up on somebody up in Dalton, Chattanooga or somewhere. Lost 11-1 to the 9u Atlanta Angels in the Slugfest....still can't get over that one!

Renegades - Final 4 last week

Atlanta Bluejays - Final 4, 1 month ago

Atlanta Stars - SNIT final 2, 1 month ago

Obviously, these are just some of the more recent results and I think it demonstrative of a trend; some teams are rising up, and some teams have peaked and are receding back into the pack.

We'll know more after this weekend with several GA teams going to the Tenn SNIT. But expect the trend to continue which ever way its going!

Oh yeah...I want to take a moment and shout out to my peeps at the Mayhem Badboys...Keep working guys and all my peeps at WFDD, you keep working too.

See you at the park.
