I would say the final 2 will be Astros vs Angels. Since this is the Astros Invitational it’s nice to be able to tell the director to put you in the same pool with the Angels and all the lowest ranked teams. I believe the Astros set it up so they don’t face the Angels until the championship game. Something seems fishy here. See if my prediction comes true.

My semi-finals predictions:
Angels
Astros
HP Chilidogs - Kearns
Titans

KK

USSSA determines the match-ups based on points from what I understand. It is based on the number of teams and a formula for points. If you have expereince with setting up tournaments, please share.

Kkelly whoever you are lets get a couple of things straight.. #1 I have not talked with the director and did not set up the pool games so we would have a chance to play the Angels last..Yes this is our tournament but, Bubba set up the pools not me.. Matter of fact I am missing my youngest son's game(s) on Thursday and Saturday because of how the schedule is set.. I hardly ever get a chance to see him play and you seriously think I wanna miss his games because of this tournament?? man ur on crack..

Secondly, what makes you think I am sitting here thinking we are going to be a shoe in for the championship game?? You might wanna take a second and look at all the teams in this tournament and actually think about who they are.. Anyone of them can run us off the field at any point and we will be lucky to make it past the first round of bracket play. My kids have played well at times but they have also looked like an abused diaper at times.. All I care about is the kids learning the game.. Most of them learn more when they lose than win they win anyways..

Thirdly, as far as the rankings are concerned I have read for 9u here is my thoughts on them.. #1 Angels,, #2 everyone else... Until a team out there can beat the Angels on a consistent basis they well deserve that spot.. I think any other 9u team can beat any other 9u team at any point that is why I put everyone at #2.. I think all the programs from Eatonton Bulldogs, Elite Gamers, Home Plate, 643, Acworth, Kennesaw, Zebulon, etc.. have many strong players on each team and have very good coaches whom I all pretty much know and very much respect... To try and seriously rank 9 year old kids in my mind is completely insane, they are 9 YEARS OLD... Really, does it mean anything????

Please come up and introduce yourself this weekend if your out at ECB... Once again, I had absolutely NO decision making on who we or any other team plays this weekend.. If you wanna question someone call Bubba, do not sit there and say I tried to fix the tournament in any way.. Look forward to meeting you...

The pairings in this tournament make absolutely no sense. I would have to agree with KK. For instance, How can the Bulldogs as the # 1 seed play who they are matched with? Kudzu ??? how do you get that? Why have points if you just arrange the teams at your discretion?

@ swing coach
this is how you seed a tourney. pick any # of pools you still use the same formula. for this one we will use 4 pools
poolA poolB poolC poolD
#1 #2 #3 #4
#8 #7 #6 #5
#9 #10 #11 #12
#16 #15 #14 #13
#17 #18
you take the highest amount of usssa points and go across for the amount of pools you have, when you get to the last pool you drop down and seed back to the left, when you get back to pool A you drop down and seed back to the right and continue that way until all the teams are in pools.

Well said. My favorite rankings so far this year..." #1 Angels,, #2 everyone else... "..lol... However, when we beat the Angels, I hope that will put us at a solid second until we get their number.... . It is still fun hearing everyone's opinion. Especially when people's opinion ranks us ahead of the Stros.... . Ranking is fun and so is 9u baseball, hopefully! I know we are having fun. Play ball. We will do what we can to make your prediction true about getting knocked out before the championship. Thanks for hosting.

Astros 18 - Stallions 3
Crush 9 - 643 6
Congrats to Shane and his crew from Cartersville. They look to have a pretty good squad are playing much better ball lately.
Bulldogs and Titans should be a great game tonight at 6:00. Also get to have a look at the SC Kudzu and AL Young Guns tonight. Does anyone know anything about these teams?

Congratulations to the Angels. They prove again why they are number one. They played exceptionally well and look to be as strong as ever.

Also well played by Reebok, Homeplate and Astros.

Great games, great weather - all around a great tournament.
