I can't imagine the team budget for the Braves...It was probably more than my Expos teams in the Minors? I bet the kids get more than $15 a day for food....haha. Oh yea I walked up hill both ways too! |

It is likely that the Braves and Stealth will be on the same side of the bracket after reviewing the pool matchups. I would throw TPX in the mix and look to them to make the number 1 or 2 seed. Since the Stealth are playing Columbia County a close game could put them on the same side as the Braves. Not to offend the other teams but Braves and TPX clearly have an opportunity to shut out their opponents in pool play as well as have a run diff of 14 in their two games. If Columbia plays as well as they did against Central Fla. in the Carolina SNIT it could definitely be a bracket buster. As you can tell I probably have way too much time on my hands looking at this stuff. If the past is any indication a few teams will pad their rosters at the last minute and all of this stuff on paper will be worthless. Or we can just play the games and let the boys settle it on the field !! Good Luck to all and hope to see you at the park (only wish we would play at Pooler intead of Bazemore as advertised). |

Moccs-----Padding is going on for sure. You may be correct about TPX taking the ship as word comes to us today at the grounds is they picked up the stick from the Blue Claws and a top 12u pitcher in the nation (formally of the Blue Claws).

I was talking about this subject to someone last weekend, seems as though teams in Florida are always picking up players each weekend where as the GA teams will usually go with their original roster. This probably explains why so many players from Flordia are listed on a half dozen different rosters each year. Nothing wrong with that as it's certainly well within the rules but just making an observation. |

Teams here in GA. will not do that because we are concered about what other people (COACHES-PARENTS) will think I see nothing wrong with it this is why we have a hard time with the teams from FL. |

The Regulators team has taken on 1/3 or the Blue Claw group for this weekend. May want to factor that into a bracket buster team that can make a run.

Why would you want to win a tournament with some other teams players? What does that prove to anyone? That you're pretty good with somebody else's players? |

Sorry to hear you feel that way. Yes the Blue Claw black are improving and TPX will be hard pressed to shut them out and even possibly win if they take them lightly. The have some ballers lying in wait on that team. Had a pitcher pitch a no hitter as well against a solid team.

I think the Regulators won this tournament the last year so they want be overlooked for sure. I understand that people are free to pick up players but there has to be a limit on how many rosters a kid can be on in a given year. I also understand the need to occasionally pick up a player when you are short but we shouldn't have to go out and scout players around the southeast just too be competitive in a tournament. Maybe all of those teams should be Divison A and the regular teams with constant rosters Division B and the rest Division C . Or maybe I am just jealous because we are from Middle Georgia without the Talent pool to choose from like ECobb or North Fla and despite the fact that there is no charge to play for our team , have difficulty picking up outside talent. Or maybe I am just not agrressive enough like some coaches have been in reaching out to our players. (Of course thats another topic in itself !!) We plan to bring our normal team as usual and go as far as we can . If we get beat but remain competitive then so be it. However if we lose I will come up with another excuse >>LOL |

The underlined part of this rant bothers me. I am intimately familiar with the request of the coaches. What is at issue is a Blue Claw player played with the Stealth when we had a prior commitment in another tourney that same weekend.

Its hard to pick a Team for your child when you find afterwards it's daddy ball all over again or the coaches aren't getting along, parents griping, coaches frantinizing, all sorts of DRAMA so you try and find a better solution. I know several have no other options so they stick around and others can't wait for Cooperstown and then the can finally break away.
I understand Regulators are padding their line up with 3 guns from the BClaws, quite hypocritical of CLaws coaches that told parents it wasn't permitted for your son to play for other teams but their sons are? But TC is not strict on the ROSTERS as Utrip.
Hoping the NF Hurricanes do well But lost great player to Bclaws Black who are looking great. Let's hope weather holds up. Should be a interesting weekend.

nfbm, What is your definition of "frantinizing"?

Maybe they should have asked the parents and the other players how they felt about it!

There are 24 teams with 10+ players each and this thread has degenerated into 2 posters discussing 1 player? Good Luck, I hope you work out your differences. |

After it was brought up on the board I find it interesting to get a guage on why a parent would leave his son's main tean in the lurch.

Since bb301 thinks this thread is coming up short on content here is a prediction of the Bracet de Oro. After looking at it realistically I have my homer picks. With this many teams it is one to just enjoy the experience:
1. East Cobb Braves 2. Stealth Bomberz 3. Columbia County Bulldogs 4. CBC Riverhawks - Playing solid baseball and developing 5. Blue Claw Black - Up and coming with quality pick up mentioned by NFBM 6. Regulators - team is a hodgepodge of kids if they gel they win 7. Middle Ga Mocs 8. Team TPX - Could be top 2 or 3 depends on bats and on how they do against up an coming Blueclaw Black squad 9.. Jax White Caps - well coached if they do it in pool could be a surprise team 10. NFL Hurricanes - always in the running and solid pitching 11. NorthJax Ghosts 12. PSDS Yanks - if they are coming together as a team could spell trouble 13. Elite Gamers 14. Team ECb Select 15. Home Plate Chilidogs 16. Charleston Heat

Bang, don't make predictions on my account. It just seemed like that back and forth wasn't going anywhere.
Nothing wrong with being a homer, actually, you should be. I believe the RHawks faired pretty well in this tournament last year so another good showing wouldn't surprise me.
Personally, I would move PSDS up a litte and the Whitecaps down a little. I agree that the WCaps are well coached, but I don't think they are ready quite yet. I am a fan of their coach. Who knows, maybe they will surprise some folks. I will be rooting for them as I know several kids on that squad.
Good luck to all, it should be interesting. |

Looks like the Braves are in da zone, can anyone stop them down in Savannah? Was looking forward to a Stealth/Braves match up but someone forgot to tell the Bomberz to score a run. |

Ship came down to a nail cruncher. Congrats to both teams. Braves were clutch and TPX fought galliantly. Came down to a pitching duel with he difference evidently coaching. It was as if the ECB staff knew what TPX was doing before they did.
Here is to a great well run tourney at all the age groups I covered and a great final in 12u that I was lucky enough to witness. |

ALL appoligies to the ECB at first the T/D had the Regulators/CFL/BlueClaws/TPX winning over the Braves. Congrats to the ECB. Me and the family, as well as some others from the team came over to watch a game they were playing. GREAT group of family members and fans to sit and watch some 12u baseball. Congrats to the BRAVES!!!!
