Doing the wood bat tournament in Douglasville. What is a good bat that will not break after 2-3 hits?

Any of them.....or none of them.

If you catch it on the handle, doesn't matter what brand it is, likely broken. Hit it on the barrel and most any of them will last a good while. If you're only playing one tourney, I wouldn't get hung up dropping 3 figures on a high end big name. Hit a store with a wide selection, let him swing a bunch and pick one out at a reasonable price. May get through the tourney or may break in first BP. Better to not dump alot of money in one.

All that said, bamboo tends to be pretty durable. The composite wood bats are too, but you're getting pricey now.

I would agree on bamboo bats, I purchased engraved bamboo bats for a Christmas gift for my boys.....they use them mostly in the cage and soft toss, and have used them in some live at bats during practice prob have over 500 hits on them each.....and they both like the bamboo than the maples they have used in the past.

Brett Brothers have several models with 120 day warranties & ComBat has several with 1 year warranties. You get what you pay for.

My son swings a Louisville Slugger C271 Ash bat. They go for under $50. He has been using the same one for over a year (Mainly just BP.). I see no reason to send more on wood.

My son bought a Baum Bat. Best investment. Waited til he was big enough to handle a 33". He's been swinging it three years. One bat, long life span.

Thanks guys. Picked up a 31" Bamboo bat from Dick's yesterday. It comes with a 100 day warranty. Took the boy out to the park to hit with it. Took some time, but he was crushing the ball. I just hope he can continue hitting in the tournament. Again, thanks!!
